@Karsten-Lund-0 I have a Garmin Zumo 590 and a ZumoXT and can confirm that the route will continue after wake up from sleep mode.. When you remove the 590 from the cradle without any action it falls in the sleep mode automatically or if you press the On/Off button shortly als well.

@Dave-1u You can add any point in the map as a POI inside the specific route. I say explicitly inside that route, because without further actions these POI's are not present in a new route unless you save these locations as favourites too or create a custom group of POI's through a external file. Unfortunately the icon itself cannot be changed. If I want the fastest route, I just use the A to B navigation with both the Navigation app and in my Zumo XT, and both routes go over the highway. I never use the shortest - fastest option. But maybe there is a need for it, but as you have already heard this is not high on the priority list and it is compiled by the users.

Probably for the same reason Garmin corrupts TomTom routes, and often even Garmin routes... Importing routes from any platform to any platform will introduce "corruption" as you call it. Fact is that any platform will calculate the route between routepoints as it sees fit, given the many parameters like map and settings. Mostly I just import a track from the gpx, and redraw the route myself. I think that it works quicker and more certain than any automatic import function.

@Chris-3u It depends on how you "construct" your holiday. What you can do is make an outline of a, let's say 5 days, trip on one route; This roundtrip only contains the guestimated main routepoints; starting and end points, and main places to visit. With the new MRA calculator it is now very easy to build such routes and cut the whole journey into e.g. 300 km stretches for each day. The final version for 5 days has maximum 15 waypoints. Keep that route (R0 - Outline), split the route in 5 seperate routes (D1 -D5) and start detailing each route. That usually leads to the route becoming longer :-). With the "add routes" function of the routeplanner, it is very easy to copy a fully detailed trip back in the R0 and delete the few overlapping routepoints from the original R0. As you progress, you have your full journey calcualted in the R0.
