    • RE: (May 7th) You ask, we run part 1 (8:15 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. UK time)

      Some suggestions for topics to discuss and questions for this webinar : -

      • Please can you explain the purpose of Groups and how to join & create them? Also, the purpose of Friends?

      • Why have the ability to create tracks if these cannot be used in Navigation?

      • Questions regarding MRA Navigation app -

        • Please could you explain the function of ‘Skip Route Point’? Is the route point skipped ahead or behind?
        • Navigation will malfunction if a route point is missed, for example because of a temporary road diversion. How can this be corrected during a ride?
        • Is it possible to change the guidance voice?
        • The voice guidance can be rather intrusive sometimes. How is it possible to change the frequency of guidance - eg an option for alerts only?
        • What is the ‘upload’ function in Navigation?
        • What are Events in Navigation?

      Enjoying the webinars, and learning a lot; thanks for doing them..

    • RE: Navigation app updates

      @Nick-Carthew Ok, it may just be my phone. However it is not a big problem, as I only really use the zoom as a workaround to get an overview of a route in progress. Hopefully we will have an 'overview' button in a future release. Thanks for looking at it.

    • MRA no longer works with Sygic

      After updating the Sygic App (Version 20.4.4) on my iphone 7, I find I am no longer able to open a track into Sygic as I was able to do before. Any ideas why this feature no longer works?

    • RE: Outreach to Sygic in light of connectivity issues

      Is there any progress with this issue, or a timescale for it's resolution?

      In the process of fixing the bug can I suggest adding a 'Compare route to Sygic" function to the route planner toolkit? When preparing routes previously, before Sygic functionality was lost, I had noticed that the Sygic route often differed from the Default (Open Street Map), TomTom and Here routes. When creating a route for use with Sygic navigation it would be useful to check for discrepancies and correct these in advance.

      However, this would be a refinement and it is more important to reinstate MRA Navigation compatibility with Sygic to as it was previously.

      I would appreciate an update.

      Thanks

      I am happy to help with the testing. I use an Imac with Big Sur operating system, also Iphone 7.

      All seems fine now, on Mac & Iphone. Thanks for resolving this so quickly!

    • RE: Outreach to Sygic in light of connectivity issues

      I have been in touch with Sygic regarding this issue.

      I have attached a copy of the email thread. In their latest email (4 Oct) they say that MRA Navigation needs to be updated and they have sent the necessary documentation.

      Is it possible to estimate when this fix will be incorporated?

      Thanks

    • RE: Navigation issues

      @PAD-0

      I am sure automatic skipping of waypoints used to work much better than it does now. You may have noticed that this feature is shown as ‘beta’ in settings, so it may not have been carried forward in development - possibly. Whatever the reason this problem, combined with manual skipping waypoints now being impossible to do on the move, Navigation has become difficult to use. If you don’t deviate from the route and you hit every waypoint then everything is fine; but in reality how often does this happen? Roadworks, accident etc invariably cause a diversion from the route, or you may simply decide to deviate… I hope these bugs can be fixed soon.

      Strange that the petrol station notifications seem to come and go. This feature disappeared for me I am guessing about a year ago, never to reappear!

      I agree with your observations about the format of the screen.

    • Navigation issues

      I have noticed some issues recently when using MRA Navigation -

      Missed ‘shaping’ waypoints are not automatically skipped until you are over half way to the next. On a straightforward road there can (should) be quite a large distance between waypoints, so that for example waypoints spaced say 10mls apart Navigation will keep trying to route back for 5+ miles. I have tried this out and it is too great a distance to travel, during which the app is constantly recalculating and re-routing and you are effectively lost. I am not sure what the optimum distance limit before skipping should be, but perhaps 1 mile? Previous versions dealt with skips much better.

      Of course you can skip waypoints manually, using the submenu, but you first have to enter the number of skips via a keyboard, then press ok. Very difficult to do with gloves on and dangerous whilst riding. Previous Navigation versions had a single button to skip one point, which was better and made it possible to do on the move. If more skips were required press again - simple! Even better if the skip button were on the main screen. Incidentally, I don’t think the other functions on the submenu, (route & navigation preferences, save location etc) are essential whilst navigating as these are set in the main menu before loading the route.

      A small issue, but I am fairly sure Navigation previously used to display distance to petrol stations. This was useful. Has this been dropped?

      I try not to be negative about Navigation and I use it for navigation on my motorbike almost all the time. It is a good app but the recent ‘skipping’ issues are making it more difficult to use than previously, rather than better.

      Has anyone else noticed these problems?

      I have version Navigation v1.0.30 on an iPhone 7.

      Best regards

      @Armand-Thomassen I tried opening some 'old' routes into Sygic using my iPhone7, unfortunately no success. Looks like the issue is more general with IOS. Agree it would be good to fix this bug asap.

      @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master
      You don't use a gpx. When you select Sygic, from the screen shown, MRA opens Sygic with the route selected. Or rather it did previously, but not now.

      @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master
      Hi Hans, no it is not that. I have tried very simple routes with few waypoints, but it still does not work. I used the route shown yesterday, but with a previous version of Sygic and it worked perfectly. After I updated - nothing.
      I suspect MRA have not yet caught up with the latest version of Sygic, which has only just been released in the last few days. I am hoping this can happen quite soon, as it is a very useful feature. Unfortunately there is no way of reverting to the previous version of Sygic.
