This was one of the reasons I switched to Tom Tom. I can send any route directly from MRA (on a mobile device or laptop) to my tom tom rider 550 using the MRA Tom Tom Mydrive Beta option in the “Save as” menu. The only thing I miss from the Garmin is the Media Player. That was awesome.

Hardware: Garmin Zumo 396 - used on bike as well in car; for hiking it's not possible because of small battery which is not changable. Second disadvantage is screen, which has low contrast. But great advantage is receive of GPS signal also in difficult areas. I was never ever disappointed! And complete range of data in tracka like position, time, speed, distance in time and Km, hight. Different maps are usable like proprietary cards from GARMIN as well as Open Street Map or topo cards. And it's shock resistent (important for biking) and waterproof. Main use: Navigation along pre planned routes. Searching for fuel stations. Sometimes sponateous routing from A to B. Never using such dubious gimmicks like round trip or extra curvy routes. Software: MRA Routeplanner, because it's mire than a routplanner which I really appreciate Garmin BaseCamp, used before MRA Routplanner but has still some advantages for route planning in front of MRA Routplanner MRA Navigation, to compare with real SatNav like Garmin. But it's dissapointing in many cases: information during navigation, poore data in tracks, often loosing GPS signal (mostly based on Hardware of Smartphone). In consequence: impossibility to use track from SatNav for events and others! MRA Video, I'm nsure if I will use it, because it's too playfulnand lengthy and can only process 10 fotos! Kurviger, for hiking, because MRA Routplanner or MRA Navigation is using during tracking only HEERE maps. But those maps doesn't contain pathes whitch hikers are using Advantages: As wrote in some words above. Most important advantage of MRA is: it's more than a route planning SW. It's a wonderfull community platfom to share routes, tracks, travel stories and offer events. And usable with any kind of device (PC, Android, iPhone, Tablet) Routes can be compared with TomTom and Garmin on the fly. Routes can be transformed and downloaded in other formats. Transmission to SatNavs is easy. Drawbacks: Restriction of using track files from own SatNav for events and travel stories!! Poor data in tracks. Non visible data of tracks (only coloured line as layer in map). Not selectable maps during tracking. Track from pedestrian are not only needed for archiving. More important is to know during walking, where I am - but without topo map, it can't be visible. Future: Hope, to get quickly best features from Tyre as well as from BaseCamp, Relive and Route Generator combined in MRA. More freedom for users, what to see on screen (which tools, icons, dates etc.).

I have turn by turn navigation available on the 7 inch TFT of my Tiger 900 Rally Pro. You have to use the Triumph App though which is sadly bloody awful for plotting anything other than A to B routes. If triumph gave their App the ability to import GPX files it may be useable for some. I’ll stick with the Tom Tom 550 for now.

@Gary-France It is a bold and unusual approach and as such I wish the team well. It certainly hits all the right spots for me.

This would be useful to address the issue about planning routes during the winter time when mountain passes are closed due to snow for trips you will be making in the Summer...so a date and time. If you trip is in May when most of the passes are open it doesn't give you much time to plan the routes in advance.

@Timo-Martosatiman-MRA Hai Timo: This is really bad, In fact its [quote] all life as you know it stopping instantaniously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light" kind of bad.[unquote] and that is an understatement!!!! Jokes aside: MRA, as a relatively small company, is publishing an exciting roadmap on basis of user input, signaling to all users and potential future users that MRA is healthy and growing, and thriving, and enthusiastic and .....* then carefully hides the roadmap under a, probably seldomly used, button ony visible to existing clients???? Is there a contradiction somewhere??? Am I going nuts??? (no,I already am, that was an easy question) But still, this roadmap should be broadcasted on the main menu's, it's the best publicity you can ever have. PS: I wonder if you know where that quote comes from

@Vince-LaRocca So far as I know it is not possible. Safe your route as *.gpx file at your Computer and share it with Garmin Explorer.

@Doug-Robinson Each map calculates the route in its own way, and with its own errors. As example, one map could take into account a roadblock while another doesn't. The same for GPS deives that use different maps and calculation algoritms. Hence it is normal that calculating a route with different maps gives different results. As a golden rule: always calculate the routewith the same ap that your device is using: TomTom or HERE for Garmin. When riding in a group with different devices, the mara routeplanner allows to compare routes so you can add/move waypoints until it is exactly the same for both device families

@Steve-1g You can enable the POI Fuel Stations (in Dutch in my pictures "tankstations") from the left-hand menu on desktop and form the bottom menu bar on smartphone. After ticking the box, zoom out and back in on the map to show the POI's. [image: 1601455040400-screenshot_20200813-153118__01.jpg] [image: 1601455055436-screenshot_20200813-153817.jpg]
