Trip Planner or Tracks on Garmin BMW Nav VI
-
Starting to plan my first trip to Scotland in a couple of weeks time. I am experimenting on whether to use Trip Planner or Tracks?
Which is the best one to use? taking into account we will be stopping en-route and also going slightly off route, either unintentionally or intentionally to get food, drinks, fuel, etc. -
It is best to use the tracks and let the Navigator convert them into a journey (route). Make sure you turn off the recalculation.
Tip: But if the track is visible, you will always see whether you are still on the route. -

If I skip part of the track will it ask me to go back or just carry on where I rejoin?

With recalculation ON, You will be directed to the end point of the route, concerning the settings in the navigator.
With recalculation OFF, you can go on sight back to the route
