@Don-Stauffer ...ah, now I've got your point. And yes, you are right with details you described. People who plans great journeys with lot of place to be visited during the journey- sometimes with alternatives (because of local weather conditions) - to get flexibility in the planned journey - such people do missing some features around POI. Because I'm operating similar to you, I understand your pain. And yes, to create a own POI is possible but poor. If you set an own POI, you can't make it as a route point too (like the given POI list in MRA). If own POI are worth to be kept, I also export them from route as gpx file. And import it again as own POI list. Regularly, I enhance my own POI list and add furthermore POI in. I have different collections of own POI - separated by region or by type (viewpoints, monuments, etc.) The greatest pain indeed is the missing possibility to add more information to a POI (like Garmin is able to). But all missed features you described are often discussed here. Many people are waiting for the big renewal of the website, hoping to get such missing features then.

Léon, thank you very much for pointing out Javawa. I’ve known about and used Javawa’s tools for years, but I hadn’t come across rtwtool before. It works perfectly!

@Anonymouse, you SHOULD be able to set a pin on that location, so and set parameters to filter routes around that location. But apparently there is something wrong with the filter results... [image: 1776929899918-99d1f6d3-5fe8-4838-b28f-71c4485dc2ff-image.png] I am in favor of your idea though. Often multiple routes will need to be shown though. But I think it is a rather big change, and it will most probably not happen in the current web-planner.

Strangely I've discovered this problem is WAY worse when the map layer is Google Maps. OpenStreetMap seems to behave better. Perhaps this might give the developers a clue about why it happens and how to give us a reliable way to recover?

@Don-Stauffer said in Favorites, POI's and waypoints: The per-route implementation of POI in the 'manage' tab works a little better, as I can turn on and off any particular POI. The POI is visible regardless of zoom level. Two good features there. But I cannot maintain the list off-line, and I cannot carry it into a new route. That is indeed one of the things I hope will improve in the new web version. Problem is that MRA does not follow the GPX standard for POI and you have only the "name" field available. I did not heard of the app Tablecruncher before, but it is indeed a simple CSV editor that is open source. I have ran into the same problems that you did and started out using Excel to edit POI, as I also use a Garmin device and wanted to have more fields available. After some time I switched into Google Sheets because I wanted to access POI also when I was not at home. This can be accessed "In the Cloud" and can be programmed with Javascript instead as Visual Basic in the Excel version. Downside is that you must have a Google account. With javascript I progammed an Import/Export function for GPX/KML files, can Geocode coordinates in the way as Garmin uses the fields and also add addresses into the name field so I have the address in the MRA POI available. Import in MRA I do with GPX as CSV will not always importing correct into MRA [image: 1776769439631-98e8d95f-889f-47db-a227-1ccf2a522f43-poi_1.png] [image: 1776769492274-910a92d0-167c-4c9c-99b1-cfd6222185df-poi_4.png] I do not think MRA will implement an complete POI editor, but follow the "Standard" GPX fields and add more Icons would be a big improvement. Instead of Trello I use UMAP, that runs on Openstreetmap, for managing POI as it can also import GPX and you can manage into POI catagories.

If you have a Gold subscription there is a tool in the toolkit. Make a copy of your route first and then reverse the copy. Take not of the distance before reversing and if it changes significantly you will need to check each route point.

[image: 1775820266574-menubalk-met-overlay.png]

Using the Altitude feature is counter intuitive and no better than doing some rough mental arithmetic on the distances from the Way point list. Another reason for having automatic displayed distances between way points is for tank range estimation. On a long trip it gets very complicated factoring in fuel stops. The slider thing at the bottom is about as much use as a chocolate fire guard when it comes to fuel range as is the Altitude tool. The best work around is to guess a point along a route, drop a marker and estimate the rough distance. But Workarounds are not functionality, they just compensate for poor design. It is functionality I'm asking for. Making MRA an indispensable tool for route planning rather than just the same as all the other route planners out there.

Seems to be a browser cache issue for me, because clicking on the link does not go back to the folder, but the main root. I tried in incognito mode and it works indeed. No clue, what the cache does wrong here. After purging it, it works. Thanks for the hint But sadly to hear, that implementing a small breadcrumb is not an option in future
