Animate - show distance with the red dot
-
It would help with route planning if the distance travelled could be shown with the Animate feature.
For me, when planning a long distance trip and knowing the possible distance out of a tank of fuel, to be able to go along the route to say the 200mile mark and look for a suitable petrol station near that point.
The same could apply to looking for accommodation or somewhere to eat.At the moment, the only way that I can do this is drop a waypoint at a random location along the route and check the distance from the waypoint menu, then move it to the 200 mile mark.

@Wallace-Shackleton in the web planning at the bottum of the screen you’ll find a slider. You can move that slider to the 200 mls you wanted

Where can you see the 200 miles? (or where the 150?)
-
If you move the slider on the right end of that slider you’ll see the distance
-
I see the total miles or kilometers number there, as well as on the top left.
I must have misunderstood the tip. I thought you move the slider to 150km, for example, and then you can see exactly where the 150km are on the map.

What sense does the slider or the kilometer indication make there?

Nice tip Marinus, but it also doesn't work for me; tested in several browsers.
At the right end of the slider scale, the total length of the route is populated (same as in top left corner in route frame).
It doesn't matter, if I start animation, or move the slider manually - I can see a red dot moving on my route - but the total distance in the rigth end of the scale is still the same. I can't find any information about distance in Km or Hrs from start of route to place of red dot.Same behavior in routes and in tracklogs.

@Marinus-van-Deudekom The distance shown is the total distance of the route.

Sorry everybody. I saw the route changing while I moved the slider but...... my mistake the km on the far right stays the same
