Hi all - am I right in assuming that satellite view uses data in the navigation app but the default map doesn’t as long as you have the maps downloaded?
I typically use satellite view at home but am currently overseas and so am roaming.

@Daniel-Lee I’m pretty sure that offline means offline no matter which map you choose.
It is easy to see if you are offline by checking the yellow offline icon is visible in the ETA box.

Satellite is only available online
Yes, it uses quite some data.
Offline mode is recommended to force offline maps to be used which require 0 data.
When online and you have offline maps, data is saved but the usage is not completely gone

I always use only navigation with downloaded maps and just let MRA do its thing!
I did a 7 day trip and used less than 1GB of data for the whole of that month!
This includes using that phone to do google searches etc.
I use a spare phone and sim so easy to keep track of what is being used.
If you want truly offline then you need to change the settings.
