Screen resolution issues
-
I co-edit routes with my friend and although it's slightly frustrating that we can't truly collaborate on a single route. (User 1 creates a route, user 2 wants to make changes, User 1 shares through friends, Group or Events. User 2 has to download a copy therefore two versions of the route now exist). We generally work round this now however something we discovered at the weekend is how the level of detail achievable in the Waypoint table on the right of the screen differs with different screen resolutions. If your screen resolution isn't set high enough (mine is 1920 x 1080 = OK, my friend's is 1280 x 1024 = Not OK) then some of the detail is lost. For example, I added stop pauses which showed up in red against the relevant WP on my screen whereas my friend opened the route and the pauses were not showing. The width of the WP table is fixed, so you can't just increase to accommodate for lower resolution screens. We also tried an iPad and Mobile phone and neither were able to display the pauses correctly.

@David-Rudgley
You could solve this by adjusting the zoom level of the image on the computer in the properties of the web browser.
Experiment with the levels from 100%, up or down, until you both have the same information in view. -
@David-Rudgley A devious proposal:
make a new free user account and share the user coordinates (name and password) with your friend. That will not allow working on it together like a real collaborative platform but it may be better than nothing. Once the file is completed you can move it both to your own accounts.
And if you want to discuss on it on-line: this is a nice tool:
it requires no installation but you can chat and share a screen

But this would only allow for a basic account with no access to the Gold planning maps or toolkit.

correct I guess, but it would give OSM with the fancy route section approach?

The problem where pause breaks were not visible for some screen resolutions has now been fixed. @David-Rudgley

Thatβs great for us all and confirms that the recent changes to the development code does allow more efficient fixes.
Top Notch -
@Steve-Lynch I had some spare time today Thought it would be nice to fix this small issue. Thanks for your remark.
