Error message 'Could not calculate route' when one is shown on the map #bug
-
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the app
- Select MRA RoutePlanner
- Select Search icon
- Select Favourites
- Select a favourite
- Select 'Add to route' (to add as point 1)
- Select Search icon
- Select Favourites
- Select a another favourite (different to the first one)
- Select 'Add to route' (to add as point 2)
A route is calculated at this point and shown on the map.
- Scroll down and select Navigate
The error message is displayed and Navigation does not start:

If you go back to 'Route information', enter a route name and save it, Navigation can then start OK. It seems as though a route must have a name before Navigation can start. If that is by design, then a better message would be helpful.

Andy@Andy-W I followd your exact steps. I can navigate the desired route...

Curious to know if this is consistent for you. Cannot reproduce it either.
A name only need to be added when saving the route which is not required for navigating it directly.

Andy@Andy-W Followed your instructions for two routes, could not replicate your experience. Both routes navigate without the need to enter a name.

@Corjan-Meijerink Yes, it's consistent for me. I tried using different points from other search filters such as Parking and Restaurant just in case it was related to something in the Favourites list but I still get the same error.
I created a short video which is on a OneDrive account so you can see it.

After the error message, I step back in the application and get a confirmation message about discarding the route so it has clearly calculated one (and it shows on the map too).
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 and don't have another phone or tablet I could test this on.

Andy@Andy-W Thanks for your reply.
Could you create a support ticket with the logs of the app attached? These logs can be retrieved by long pressing the version number at the bottom of the account page in the app (where all the settings are).
What travelmode have you got selected?
Does changing this influence the outcome? -
The only thing I can think of, is that your actual position is too far away from any calculable road.

That has been done.

Does changing this influence the outcome?I had Motorcycle selected. I have tried different travelmodes and still get the same error.

If I just select one favourite I can navigate to it so I don't think it's my current location.

Andy@Andy-W Thanks for creating the ticket, I've read it.
I will fix the issue
It seems to be caused by the fact that you have enabled the "navigate routes as track" option. Try turning this off and retry your steps.
Working on a solution now
