Mobile Phone Battery usage - Any News??

That is true. But with same phone i had lot more issues with MRA and heat on older MRA versions compared to the recent version.I recently made two trip with version 4.1.3 in range of 12-25 degrees (C). At both trips the battery remain at 100% and pretty cool.
Not as cool when using TomTom Go and using Spotify at the same time. But the gap is smaller than before.That's why i suspect. Some improvement are made.

I dont use wireless charging just dont understand why some day trips the phone is 100% charged and some it cuts of because it has run out of Battery.

Does your phone get hot too? I can image that on some hot days while charging the temperature get's so high that the device decides to stop charging (or lower the level). But this is just a guess.

I would avoid using wireless charging anyway. Wireless charging dissipates a lot of extra energy in the form of heat, and has way less capacity than charging by wire.
Just for balance. My iPhone 11 charges to +100% on a Quadlock wireless charger without problems.
@Nick-Carthew @Andrew - ambient temps play a part in it as well. I live in Texas, and in my case, as long as the ambient temp is below ~80degF, not much of an issue. Now, the phone DOES get warmer than 'normal' operating conditons, so there is still an issue with the battery draw the app has. If the temp goes above 80degF, then it is a matter of shutting the app down and switching to Google Maps/Apple Maps or even Scenic...the app is 100% not useable at this point.

Out again yesterday On Motorbike with Android auto and while app is connected to bike with phone screen of Battery lasted OK

Yesterday I used MRA on the motorcycle all day and the battery in the wireless Quad-lock charger was not below 80%.
How What or Why I have no idea.
But this does bring back the confidence that things will turn out okay -

@Erik-35 haha...yea rain can mess it up! For me, the battery issue, while still present, does not have any issues at that ambient temp - 25degC and is very much complicated/comprimised by the heat generated while having to constantly charge the phone (wired charge), causiing excessive heat issues to the point where the phone goes into protect mode, and the screen dims to an undistinguishable level and the only option then, is to shut the app down, and go back to Google, Apple or Scenic - not ideal, but currently, the only workaround.

I also continue to have problems with phone temperature which I suspect is related to battery consumption. I use CarPlay via a usb wired connection and keep the phone in the armrest. I probably get about 2 hours of usage after which time the phone shuts down due to the temperature. So the app remains unusable for me for most trips.

What I do

The phone's screen is off. I charge the phone wired but not in the armrest so it can get fresh air. The phone will get charged and doesn't het overheated.
Try this and see the results -

Try this and see the results@Marinus-van-Deudekom The phone's screen is off and it is in a closed armrest but I don't want to, or feel I should need to, give up the convenience of having the phone out of the way and easily connected to a charging point. The other navigation apps don't require this and MRA is not good enough to cause me to want to investigate other option.

@Simon-Ferrari Maybe you can try it out of the arm rest to see if thats the problem

@Marinus-van-Deudekom not sure why people continue to try to say it is not an issue - it obviously is, has been acknowledged by the MRA Team, to which is always pointed to a HERE issue. If your fortunate to live in a cooler climate, great - no issues! If not, it is a continual issue/problem and makes using the app impossible. As @Simon-Ferrari says, other navigation apps do not have that issue (specifcally, Google Maps and Apple Maps)
And just because the issue belongs to HERE, it does not give MRA a free pass - the issue occurs with the MRA app. You don't take your vehicle to the manufacturer when it has an issue, you take it to the dealer - and in this instance, MRA is the dealer. I know they are working on it, just wish they were having more success.
