Extra navigation needed in warm weather (sunlight)...
-
When navigating in warm weather my iPhone 13 Pro Max becomes so hot that the brightness of the screen goes down. Then it's impossible to navigate.
Unfortunately this implies for me that I remain to use my BMW Navigator V as a backup.
Fortunately, I can add my routes to my BMW Navigation V with a wired connection. This way I have the necessary backup navigation.

@Dikke-Wim Last weekend I had the same problem, but if I am correct they are working on it

@Bart-DM
As far as I know, this has nothing to do with Navigation Next, but has everything to do with the iPhone. Maybe I'm mistaken.If that is the case I would like to know!
-
@Dikke-Wim It's a combination of both factors I guess.

@Bart-DM
You could be (are probably) right. MyRoute Next uses a lot of processor time and heats up the iPhone.Thanks for your fast reply!

Use a Carplay device for bikes, then you can keep your phone in your pocket.

Hmmm. The whole point of MRA Nav Next is to avoid buying yet another device.

'Additionally, if you're navigating, your device might show this alert and turn off the display: "Temperature: iPhone needs to cool down." Navigation still provides audible turn-by-turn directions. When approaching a turn, the display will illuminate to guide you through the turn.'That 'approaching a turn' option may be available to MRA Nav Next, but knowing Apple it's probably specific to just their own navigation apps. One for investigation later, maybe.

Correct, battery usage is the top priority but unfortunately part of it is HERE.
Battery usage = high CPU usage = temperature increase

That may be right, but "normal" smart phones are not made for heat, rain and vibration. So may be kill better a less than 200€ device then a 1000€ smart phone. jm2c

@Corjan-Meijerink Iphone könnte das Problem sein. Mein Huawei P30 Pro wird moderat warm und wird sogar wireless geladen wärend der Fahrt. Bei Ankunft immer 90 -100% Ladung
-
@Corjan-Meijerink even wat testjes gedaan de afgelopen dagen. Beschik over een Quad Lock QI lader op de motor.

Not only MRA Next. Other navigation apps also but MRA Next is clearly the winner.
Make sure your phone is mounted in the wind for cooling. This helps a lot.@Jörgen
Keep the phone in your pocket with Carplay or AA is bad advice. The phone will stil get very hot.
Also with Carplay of AA the will need cooling. -
@CD130
Ik neem aan dat je in alle gevallen het scherm op dezelfde helderheid hebt gehad? -
@Dikke-Wim ja, op 100%
