@David-Ghosh when something like that happens, 90% chance it's due to that particular street situation (one-way street, off-road, seasonal closure, limited traffic etc). So make sure settings are all good. If nothing of this helps, the way to force a straight line is to press the waypoint and then select "skip"[image: 1741043045090-screenshot_20250304_000151.jpg] .

@Gregory-b If you turn on Disable Seasonal Closures in the toolkit, this should allow you to continue planning without the annoying loop.

@Jos-van-Halbeek Het is in mijn ervaring in bijna alle gevallen goed mogelijk om een route gelijk te trekken op alle kaarten (in MRA met gebruik van de "Compare route with" functie) door het plaatsen van een paar extra routepunten (en inderdaad het uitschakelen van de seizoensafsluitingen). Enige uitzondering is als een bepaalde weg wel op de ene en helemaal niet op de andere kaart staat. Dit is helaas de praktijk in een wereld met verschillende systemen van verschillende aanbieders die verschillende kaarten en navigatiealgoritmen gebruiken.

@Helmut-Amon Also ich habe gerade eine Route von Stuttgart nach Lissabon mit zunächst 2 Wegpunkten geplant. Gerechnet wurde auf der Here Map und es waren keine Einschränkungen gesetzt. Streckenlänge ca. 2300 km. Dann habe ich die Route durch das Einfügen weitere Wegpunkte etwas verfeinert. Damit stand dann das „Grundgerüst“ der Route. Anschließend wurde die Route in Tagesetappen geteilt und die einzelnen Abschnitte dann im Detail ausgearbeitet.

@Thomas-Neumeyer @richtea999 It isn’t a fixed maximum distance that restricts the generating of a route, it is to do with how many nodes. A very curvy route would contain a lot more nodes than a straight route. I am sure that there will be big improvements in the Scenic route generator, including messages when the website receives its update.

@Carl-Lee You are correct, that is exactly how it should be if you read the descriptions of Garmin, but unfortunately in reality it is a bit different: My experience was, that it works from time to time, but not always. Specially my experience that Tread messes up not only the routes etc. on the XT2, but also the Garmin explore data in such a away, that I haven't been able to "repair" differences between Tread APP, my XT2 and the Garmin Explore webpage. It was that bad that I lost all the data I already have migrated from various sources into the Garmin Tread and Explore universe. Beside that I must admit, that it have worked for a very short period of time and only as long as used it more or less seldom. As soon it is was used heavily for planning and organising things, it messes it totally up. Greetings Thomas

@marc-van-der-heijden, Hou er ook rekening mee dat in bijvoorbeeld Duitsland Streetview opnamen pas sinds juni 2023 toegestaan zijn van overheidswege. Ze lopen de achterstand best snel in, maar het is gewoon zo dat nog niet alle wegen bereden zijn met een Google camera.
