I don't think that's what makes a difference. GPS is either off or not. The difference is made in the app, how it is programmed to extrapolate the probable location based on the map, when GPS is found inaccurate. My zumo often showed being off-road too in mountainesque areas. However the "running off screen" you experienced, I have not seen (yet).

I think that distance for really short following of instructions is not very meaningful anyway (e.g. turn right and immediately left does not really need a distance at all). For distances of let's say 50 to 500 meters the distance is nice to know in advance, and specifically in that scenario I have absolutely no problem with it being static from the first instruction. For greater distances knowing them that early has no benefit because they will turn into the first instruction anyway after passing the previous one.

People seem to look at those info tiles a lot. For myself I can say that I seldomly look at them at all. The routeline itself is leading for me, and it also tells me if a second turn is close or not.

Hmmm, So the problem seems to originate from your headend then... Maybe updating its firmware?

@Rob-Verhoeff Actually Rob, I created the route using the HERE map, and then once complete, compared it against the TomTom map (as I find that that can iron out some "route changes" between the 2 Sat Navs.

This all used to work ok, its just over the last couple of months that I'm finding discrepancies between the app and the PC version of MyRouteApp so much so, that I'm now at the stage of having to double check that the route loaded to my Sat Nav directly from MyRouteApp actually does reflect the route I've planned.

Hier ook zoiets Android auto in de Kia Niro en de Xiaomi MI10. Eerst route op telefoon, auto starten, dan telefoon koppelen krijg route op auto scherm. Bij rijden reageert Myroute-app heel verschillend de ene keer wel routpijltje maar die bevriest meestal op vertrekpunt, vandaag liep hij wel mee op de route. Route aanwijzing linksboven staat om de 4 a 5 min te zoeken wordt dan zwart met ronddraaiende icoontje. Gesproken tekst is er wel. Van de week nieuwe softwarepakket op de radio geïnstalleerd. Had het daarvoor ook al.

Daarnaast hebben we het overlay menu. Dat is dat knopje rechtsboven in. Met deze functie kan je niets anders dan de visuele weergave van de kaart in je routeplanner veranderen! Hiermee kan je dus als gebruiker je route verleggen op basis van verschillende kaart weergaves, maar het routering algoritme gebruikt nog altijd, ongeacht de ingestelde overlay, de bijbehorende kaart gegevens zoals eerder beschreven.

Dit betekent dus dat je bijvoorbeeld een route met TomTom kan laten berekenen(TomTom in toolkit kiezen) maar tegelijkertijd de weergave op OpenStreetMap kan laten staan.

Veel gebruiken de Michelin overlay voor de mooie wegen aangeduide met de groene lijnen naast de wegen. Velen gebruiken ook de OSM om snel te zien hoe je door natuurgebieden kan rijden. Velen gebruiken de Google Hybride Satelliet laag om Google info te raadplegen voor bv restaurants of andere info waar Google om bekend is.

Hopelijk niet te belerend, maar wat extra achtergrond. 😋

I had an issue today using Chrome. I wanted to delete all routes in a sub folder, and it deleted the sub folder and main folder above it.
Did you manage to get your routes restored?

dit weekend naar luxemburg geweest en dit denk ik 5x mee gemaakt. in mijn geval geen invloed op route maar wel erg vreemd.

smal update i just tested it with cable connection and then i get the map. it seems a problem with wireless android auto.
