@viktor-4 Hello, I recently began using MRA Tourplanner and have been utilizing SYGIC GPS Navigation on my phones. I encountered issues with "curly" routes/tracks during transfers. I tried GPX versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 but none yielded satisfactory results. Upon researching which map database SYGIC employs, I found it uses TomTom GPX 1.1. Consequently, saving the GPX file in this format resolved the "doodles" issue in SYGIC.

@Nick-Carthew said in Place names in the TomTom map: @Christian-Schrenk “The more waypoints are set, the more accurately the route is transmitted.“ Local conditions like heavy traffic or road closures can affect your TT and maybe cause it to take a diversion. Placing more waypoints does not make the route more accurate. In fact, it multiplies the chances of an inaccurate route if all waypoints are not fully checked as previously mentioned. And as you said, it makes rejoining your original route difficult. And the language used on the maps is out of the control of MRA like @Hans-van-de-Ven-RouteXpert said in a previous reply, but I think we have found you a solution. Waypoints? You’re overthinking it. Let the map handle the drama.

@Brian-McG Hi Brian, you didn't derail anything imho. Just pointing out a shortcoming you've encountered is fine and part of the discussion. Thanks for comment and I agree that any controller that works for the user is way better than a gloved finger and much more safe.

@martin-gunnar One of the most difficult mathematical problems to solve. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelling_salesman_problem. I do a photographic rally in Ireland with 26 Waypoints. I usually use Basecamp route optimisation but find that I can usually better the computed route by eye-balling it and adjusting as necessary.

@John-B-1 The best answer you can get follows after you shared the route here. Make sure it's set to public

@Mark-McDonald When i finished my route, i go to the first point, press the zoom button and go trough al the point with the arrow keys. On this level you can see if your point is on the correct place. Its also easy to spot if it's to close a crossing or intersection. It takes a couple of minutes for 40 or 50 waypoints but in this way you make sure everything is placed where it needs to be.

@Jörgen I much prefer the other suggestion to show a pop-up asking if you want to stop navigation when you reach your end point. If you don't respond then navigation continues. The reason I don't want an option is that i don't plan to miss my destination so how would I know when to set the option. Not ending navigation at the final waypoint is at worst a minor annoyance.
