Using a mixture of via and shapping points

I can build the route using both via and shapping points but when I upload to my Garmin XT the route only shows the via points (flags) and not the shapping points.
Is it the way they are uploading to my Garmin? I use my laptop to build my route then plug in the Garmin to upload the route. -

I use my laptop to build my route then plug in the Garmin to upload the route.@Graham-Hassell which gpx format are you using to transfer the route? 1.1 will transfer shaping points and via points but 1.2 will strip the shaping points. If you search the forum, you’ll find loads of info on this.

@Carl-Lee Check but the 1.2 will also send the track with the route. The track can be projected under the route in the XT.

This it is not necessary to show all the waypoints. I've find this very usefull@Marinus-van-Deudekom 1.1 also sends the track which I always make visible. I have reverted to using 1.1 again due to the fact that you can allow recalculate and it will bring you back to the route if you have sufficient shaping points.

Completely agree. I've found after much consultation from our route experts that for the Zumo XT 1.1 just seems to work better.
