Query when setting waypoint

I defenetely vote for this option. Especialy when you need to transfer route to bloody garmins this is important.

@Jure-Sirena-0, Why? I think you are using the wrong format then.

@Con-Hennekens not myroute issue, its garmin issue, believe me we tried 1.2 with shaping points, 1.1 with waypoints….the only way it always imports gpx correctly (XT2) and routes correctly is to use 1.1 and waypoints only

gpx 1.2 is a route-track with via points, the route-track is converted into a route by the XT(2), so you have a route as planned with only the via points in it.
You must have included some via points in your route outside the start and end points. Transferring with the connector or with the Garmanin Drive app works well. The Garmin Tread app cannot handle routes and produces a discrepancy. The Track is processed well by the Tread App and Garmin Explore. -

@Jure-Sirena-0, so, if I understand correctly:
- if you want to drive a route, use GPX1.1
- if you want to drive a track, use GPX1.1
- if you want to drive a track that includes the viapoints, use GPX 1.2
So instead of mass-enabling viapoints, just use GPX1.1 instead.
Is that correct @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master ? -

Is that correct @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master ?@Con-Hennekens i never drive a track, just route. Its why we use 1.1 and waypoints.
If we use 1.2 it happens that some waypoints or shaping points are not imported at all (its xT2 tread app issue)
So by being able to choose waypoint / shaping point on the fly it helps

As mentioned in previous post, it happens some gets lost when using shapping and waypoints. There is even a case that i had only start and finish and nothing in between.
Its why its safer to use 1.1 and waypoints only.
When preparing several XTs and XT2 for group touristic rides under same gpx / same process you see wierd things.Again we import over tread app - there is share function for all devices. To ise exporter device per device or similar for 20-30 devices its a bit too much

If you only have a start and end point, you have the track.
If you compose the route properly, a GPX 1.2 also works perfectly, I don't use anything else.
If you use the connector, a GPX 1.2 will also work well in an XT2If you use the Tread app, it is best to use the GPX 1.1 and its track, because the Tread app and the Garmin Explore website cannot yet process route files properly. A track is processed properly.

I also have the XT2.
You can do it using the Connector or Garmin Express with GPX 1.2
Happy to provide a step by step if you need it?
Green Flag is the Start, Checkered Flag is the Finish, Orange Flags are the Intermediate Via Points that @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master mentions in his posts.Screenshot below shows the Track and the 6 Via Points in the XT2.

@Corjan-Meijerink
,
I reckon it would love it, 90% country lanes, you know, the ones with the grass/moss in the middle.
Whilst it wasn't raining today there must have been a lot of rain overnight, the Tiger1200 Rally Pro got a bit dirty, as it should.
I ran the route with MyRoute-App not the XT2 which is my back up.
Haven't had to use the XT2 once yet. -

@Lynchy67 guys thanks for help but we cant use connector in moto tour company….10-20 devices sometimes need to be managed on the fly and then all synced asap. i know how to use connector.
As said all is well I adapt some things and use only 1.1But its all about original post not about files and connectors - it would really help to have this option.

As the XT2 is my back up (I use MyRoute-App on Android as my main device with the full Quadlock set up) I never really bothered with the Track before.
I guess I should add the Track for those unforeseen blockages that require me to go off route and then re-join further ahead. Thanks for the reminder.
