iOS 17 scheint das Problem zu beheben.

Nach der Freischaltung durch Appel im iPhone-Ordner "Allgemein/Softwareupdate" iOS 17 Public Beta installieren.
Achtung: bei mir war die Datei über 6 GB groß - ich empfehle euch das eigene WLAN für das Downloaden zu benützen.

Bitte wichtige Daten vor dem Update sichern!

Hab die Beta seit zwei Wochen installiert, bis Dato ohne Probleme.
Hab davor unter iOS 16.x Stundenweise an den Einstellungen herumgedoktert, nur die Umstellung auf die englische Sprache hat hier geholfen (iOS 16.4 & 16.5)

Please back up important data before updating!

Installed the beta for two weeks so far with no problems.
Before that I spent hours tinkering with the settings under iOS 16.x, only switching to English helped here (iOS 16.4 & 16.5)

Ich benutzte iOS 16.6
Das "Homograph"-Problem nervt wirklich! Hinzukommt, die Lautstärke bei gleichzeitiger Nutzung des Cardo-Intercom lässt wirklich sehr zu wünschen übrig.
Ich frage mich allerdings schon, warum das Problem bei Google Maps und sogar in der alten MRA Navigation-App nicht besteht? Die alte MRA Navigation-App habe ich noch installiert. Diese funktioniert einwandfrei OHNE "Homograph".
Aus meiner Sicht sollte MyRouteApp hier schon etwas tun können?
Was meint ihr hierzu?

@Tom-Johann, funny detail: my Google Maps showed the EXACT same problem concerning the loudness of the voice... If not playing music, you just turn up the volume of the radio/headset, but when playing music that is of course no option. Then if an instruction is given, the music ducks, but the voice is still not loud enough to overcome the music. GMaps showed the exact same thing during my holiday (I used it in my car, BT connected to my car radio).

The Homograph error is already established to be a problem in some IOS versions. The old app (and many other nav apps) has it's own internal speech synthesis. The new app relies on the OS for that. I am not sure whether the voice instruction itself originates from the app or from the HERE platform. It likely contains some intonation data that gets misinterpreted by the IOS speech synthesis. The MRA devs or the HERE devs could probably strip those, but that would mean loss of voice quality for everyone. Having an own embedded speech synthesis would likely be more flexible, but probably not easy to combine with the HERE platform. It is a chosen direction that is likely not easy to change. Google around, or search for earlier messages in this forum. There seem to be IOS voices that do not show (or speak) this problem.

As written somewhere from me, the TT GoRide-App had the same problem with Homegraph and they fixed it internal (without an Apple update).
But hopefully Apple will fix it with iOS 17.

Gestern nach dem Update auf 4.04 wo eine neu Stimme angekündigt wurde gehofft das Homograph Problem sei gelöst.
Testfahrt übrigens nicht mit CarPlay, wie bisher im Cabrio, sondern mit CarPlay im neuen Ford Focus. Es ist unmöglich damit zu fahren, es nervt und so ist die App für mich so unbrauchbar.
Was immer ihr entschieden habt dass es mit eurer Software nun so ist, es gibt mehrere CarPlay fähige NaviApps, die haben das Problem nicht. Google, Apple selbst, TT und Sygic hätte ich da im Angebot. Die haben auch Schwächen, aber sind nicht so nervend mit dem ständigen Homograph.

Nebenschauplatz.. Immer wieder meldet MyRoute App ohne dass es geöffnet ist, einen Absturz auf dem iPhone?… Ratlos

Ansonsten, die App habe ich zwar im Lifetime, aber letztendlich kostet sie Geld und sorry aus der Qualitätsperspektive ist es im Vergleich zu Wettbewerbern kein gutes Bild, das Homographproblem allein Apple anzulasten, weil man sich für einen andren Softwareweg entscheidet, aber besser sein möchte.
Auch der Hinweis, dass User melden andere nicht Navi-Apps hätten das Homographproblem auch z. b. in Vorlese-Apps für Sehgeschwächte. Das ist nicht euer Wettbewerber und ich brauche/habe so eine App nicht installiert.

I am not aware of a new voice, but yes improvements have been made to how voice guidance is given. Not on the voice itself, that's an OS thing. I am not denying something could perhaps be done by MRA to prevent the homograph problem, but you need to realize it is ultimately an IOS bug. It is entirely possible that other companies, with undoubtedly a larger dev team, have found a workaround for it. I heard recently that also TomTom has the same problem. Why not ask the bug-owner to solve the bug? In the meantime, what I understood from other users using IOS, the problem is solved by choosing a different voice in your IOS settings. You will find details by searching in this forum.

I have not heard this before. Best thing to do is to send some crashreports to the dev team, along with a description of the problem (at what time it happens and under what circumstances).

Das Update auf iOS 17 soll im September kommen und das Homograph Problem beseitigen. Ein Wechsel zu einer anderen Stimme ändert nichts. Also warten...
Oder die Jungs machen es wie der andere Holländische Mitbewerber und ändern es in der App.

Aber nicht zu früh freuen, er war auch mal in einer früheren Version weg und kam mit einem weiteren Update zurück.

Aber gut zu wissen, jetzt muss nur noch iOS 17 keine Fehler enthalten, dann geht es entlich mit Ton weiter.

Soeben kam das Update von Apple auf iOS 17.0 auf mein iPhone 12.
Das Homograph-Problem hat sich erledigt!! Das ist wirklich TOP!

Guten Morgen in die Runde, ja gestern ausprobiert, über 240km und das Thema Homograph ist jetzt nach dem iOS Update auf 17.0 erledigt.

Gleichzeitig hatte ich heute das Gefühl das die Audioqualität im Zusammenspiel mit den gekoppelten Geräten wie Handy iPhone Xr, Sena S3, BMW Cradel und BMW TFT jetzt etwas klarer und deutlicher ist, vielleicht weil MyRoute-App ja jetzt auch einen anderen Audiokanal nutze seit dem letzten Update.

Danke an alle die daran aktiv mitgearbeitet haben !!
