Turn off “Recalculate”
-
How can I turn off recalculate.” I just want a line to follow and I’ll figure out how to get to it if I get off route.
-
@artbone this isn’t possible yet, the request is on our list of suggestions
-
@Corjan-Meijerink That’s disappointing. I was really impressed with the new format but not being able to keep it from constantly trying to go back to a waypoint and urging me to make a u-turn is a deal breaker. Is there some way to just follow a track as you would do off-road.
-
@artbone You could just follow the track line but you’ll have no turn by turn instructions or visual instructions.
Open a route and click the position indicator twice. As you move the map and your position move with you. -
@Nick-Carthew Thanks. I’ll try that.
-
@artbone, Why is it disappointing if your navigation leads you back to the route you planned. I would think that's exactly the purpose of navigation. I can't wrap my head around that. Don't forget that disabling recalculation on a Garmin mainly is a workaround for not messing up the track, because it can't handle that. MRA is smarter and can handle it way better.
-
@artbone you can also select to skip the next waypoint (or a number of waypoints) so the navigation recalculates to a waypoint you’ve selected further along your route.

In off-road driving, recalculating the route can be a real disaster. I understand perfectly the proposal of my colleague. The option he suggests @nick carthew is currently the only solution. But it would be interesting to be able to choose the option of not 'recalculating'.
-
@b0hd1, Off-road, following a track (because route is not possible) you will have no turn by turn options (because there are no roads to turn into). So I really don't understand the difference with the option @Nick-Carthew proposed.

That's the topic. Many times, there are different options for off-roading. At least in the areas where I do it.
