Tracks only have start and end points. If you stopped and had to restart the only option for the track is to start from the beginning. After some time of deviating from the track MRA was able to pickup your location on the track. This is one of the reasons most prefer using a route.
The MRA team is looking at trying to make recovery from track deviation much better.

Recalculating just doesn't work properly and I would do a far better job myself if the route line was stable on the map. I followed my co riders and after 5 km's it came to its senses and was finally back on track.
It is simply not good this way and unusable

I understand perfectly the proposal of my colleague. The option he suggests @nick carthew is currently the only solution. But it would be interesting to be able to choose the option of not 'recalculating'.

I would think that's exactly the purpose of navigation. I can't wrap my head around that. Don't forget that disabling recalculation on a Garmin mainly is a workaround for not messing up the track, because it can't handle that. MRA is smarter and can handle it way better.

Open a route and click the position indicator twice. As you move the map and your position move with you.

I was really impressed with the new format but not being able to keep it from constantly trying to go back to a waypoint and urging me to make a u-turn is a deal breaker. Is there some way to just follow a track as you would do off-road.
