MRA Navigation Next will be a totally new app built from the ground up. It will supersede the old navigation app and those with an existing lifetime account for MRA Navigation will automatically have their accounts transferred over to MRA Navigation Next.

Always willing to help if I can.

Probably yes, I saw an ETA of 1st of June. But I think the "old" app will still be usable, so I would not panic šŸ˜‰

Most likely, the old app will disapear the same moment the new one becomes available

Because, to my knowledge, the same happened when the new version of "mobile" was introduced"

and it is general practice to make "old" versions dissapear from production as soon as a new one is available because it takes a lot of effort and resources to maintain two versions in parrallel. Often also because the underlying databases are not fully compatible.

Potentially, the best thing will be to have an automated and automatic upgrade from the current nav app, to next, which may of course lead to some confusion as we have seen in the past when updates of mobile and the routeplanner caused quite some anger on this forum.

Hence, good testing making sure that it all works, and good communication (and here i don't mean the typical publicity messages) well on time (not 24h before the new version rolls out) would be key.

A managed upgrade scenario may perhaps be beneficial.

The current MRA Navigation is a separate app the new MRA Navigation Next will run inside MRA Mobile so for the transition period both app will run.

That was an inline update. It has been told multiple times Next will be a complete new separate app and therefore it will not interfere with the existing Navigation app.

The "anger" we have seen probably DOES NOT make it potentially the best thing after all?

A managed upgrade scenario may perhaps be beneficial.

Having it in a separate app has the benefit of being able to manage the transition yourself šŸ˜‰ If learned ANYTHING from the Mobile app, it is that an automatic irreversible upgrade is not desirable, especially with that many changes, and especially mid season for the largest part of the userbase.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

yep, timing is crucial, and decent communication ...

@Drabslab @Con-Hennekens The Navigation app (as it now is) will continue to exist in the early stages of Navigation Next. This is because the Next app is developed with MyRoute-app Mobile (yeej, finally one single app to rule them all).

This means that the Navigation app will always be a backup during the first months. Somewhere early 2023 the Navigation app will be removed and the Mobile app (with Navigation Next in it) will have fully replaced the Navigation app as you now know it.

So long story short. When we are done, there is one app. The MyRoute-app šŸ˜‰

hi guys I wrote twice to the MRA navigation next form, no answer.
Before buying MRA Navigation next in presale, I ask if the new app will have the navigation item menu and voice navigation in Italian.

                                    thanks

Hi Tony. Your question is a little confusing because lifetime gold is referring to the route planner. MRA Navigation does not have a gold account option.
If however you have a lifetime account for MRA Navigation then when MRA Navigation Next is released, your lifetime account will automatically be upgraded to MRA Navigation Next.
