You can merge route. You can not merge tracks.

@shinja-strasser As @Jack-van-Tilburg said, you can’t merge tracks but you can convert the tracklogs to routes and then merge them.

Always willing to help if I can.

... which unfortunately doesn't work very well with longer routes (e.g. a route through France from North to South), as these don't retain enough routepoints to keep it equal to the original track...

And yes, there are use cases where I've missed this (I could specify, if really needed), despite the adagio "split your routes into smaller chunks".

If route ‘A contains 20 route points and route ‘B contains 20 route points when you merge them the new route will contain 40 route points.

@nick-carthew Then the problem is with the conversion of the individual tracks to the individual routes, as I saw significant differences. The explanation I had found out for myself (maybe not correctly), was the limitation of the number of route points - because, if I remember correctly, I already was confronted in the past with that limitation... Maybe that was not the explanation, but the differences were significant anyhow...

I know, the "answer" with differing routes in such cases is to make the routes equal to the original tracks. However, this wasn't feasible in my use case : way to much work for the simple test I wanted to do (i.e. to see how much riding time this long trip would take).

@sudolea When you convert a track to a route, a pop up box appears reminding you to check each route point for accuracy.

Yes, but I did mention I didn't have the time for my use case, did I ? I wasn't planning a trip, I just wanted to know how long riding time this route took.

Whereby I mean there really are use cases where the possibility to merge tracks is useful. Nothing more (FWIW, I got the information I was after, using BaseCamp).
