I have been reading these posts with interest.
I am a new user of MRA Navigation having given up on the BMW Connected App.
Today I went for a 240 mile round trip, by the time I had travelled around 200 miles my phone was dead, despite being on the wireless charger the whole journey.
Would I have had a better experience if I had used Offline navigation??
This could be a deal breaker for me because if I happened to have had a breakdown or other problem I would have had no phone to summon assistance.

@richard-3v Offline navigation certainly helps with power consumption. But not all users suffer with this problem. For instance, I can navigate all day (offline) with my phone on a QuadLock wireless charger and when I take the phone off of the charger it’ll be at 100% charged.

Always willing to help if I can.

Probably, but not unless you set your phone to flightmode as well. It's the GSM radio using power, not the data itself.

Another thing that will probably help you (A LOT!) is using a decent charger with a decent cable. Wireless charging has (low) limits.

I am not affiliated with MyRoute-App. The help I am offering is entirely voluntary.
I am just an enthusiastic user, and hope you will be one too!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

Thank you both for your replies, much appreciated.
I will try a decent length route using a cable charge and also using offline mapping.
I am reluctant to go down the "flightmode" path as I like the option of being able to make or receive calls (although these are very rare, and didn't apply when I had the issue).
Thanks again, I will keep you updated. Hopefully this may help others 😊

Further to my post of earlier this week, today I went out and did a 148 mile route over a period of 5 hours.
I started the route with 80% battery power, I had the phone plugged in with a cable and offline navigation set.
I received one phone call during my trip.
When I finished the route I checked my phone and I had 79% battery. πŸ‘
A definite result, next time I may try without using offline maps but at least I know that there is a solution.
Thanks to everyone for their input and assistance.

I have varying consumption. A number of times now I have ridden with the phone on the wireless charger in my motorcycle (BMW R1250RT with TFT) I use while riding both the BMW Connected app with the route on the TFT screen as well as with MRA on the phone and display via Android Auto on the Carpuride Several times while riding I see that after some time the battery of my phone runs backwards. But I have also had several times, that when I stop I recharge the phone via a battery pack. With that I then stop all apps (both those from the BMW and MRA. When I then start driving again, it has happened several times that after one or two hours of driving, the phone's battery has almost the same amount of power left as when I drove off before. But this doesn't always happen, so I don't really understand the power consumption. So sometimes the phone consumes more power than the (wireless) charger can supply and sometimes the consumption is almost equal to the charging. Unfortunately, one thing is clear; the app does use (too) much power.

met een R1250RT met TFT en BMW Connected Ride App; de Garmin Zumo XT en My Route App in combinatie met de Carpuride W702 (voor Android op de Motor!)

                          A quick addendum.
I did a 60 mile route this morning, phone plugged in via cable but "offline navigation" NOT used.
The phone used 10% of available battery.
Looks like the cable solves MY issues πŸ‘
