@richtea999 If a road is flagged by HERE as having a seasonal closure any time of the year, you have to check "Disable seasonal closures" to route through it -- even if the closure is for winter only and it's currently the dead of summer. Logically, it should only apply when the road is actually seasonably closed, and you want to create a route through it for future use. There is a good forum discussion on the confusion surrounding this Toolkit routing option avoidance: https://forum.myrouteapp.com/topic/5608/seasonal-closures-app-versus-planner-problem The obvious (to me) option would be to have an "Ignore Closed Roads" option for creating routes, regardless of what the immediate real-time situation is. Let me decide what's passable, and what isn't. Google will always be a better investigative solution than HERE, so let me do my own research. I've suggested this before, but for whatever reason it's been ignored by the powers that be.

@Stevedo-6-0, What is "foreign" for you is not foreign for everyone. Your remark of "just browsing the map", I do understand, but it is the first time I see this on the forum. In the current web planner not much development will be done anymore, since a completely new web-planner is in the works. The workaround above seems to work just fine. It is true that the current webplanner is mainly targeted to planning routes. I can imagine the new web planner will be more similar to the current app planner workflow, but we will have to wait and see, and be patient.

@Jörgen if it has to avoid "Highways" then via Colonge is the option OSM works out as the best route on MRA your perception of what is & is not a highway will differ to OSM's plus MRA messes about with the settings for the OSM routing calculator, so what you get can be hugely unexpected & different to what the OSM site may show

"Disable season closures" is the best option here, especially since I'm riding this route on September 6th!

@Yannick_van_Vugt ...yes, I can reproduce it: in the segment setup it's not working. Only in the waypoint setup it works. I was not aware before, because if I plan for offroad, verry often route line is following pathes through the forest. Only sometimes, if the route line will not follow a path, I use the "offroad function" for a waypoint...

@Andrew-Wright-1-0 said: Hi. I have started a route for a European tour. However I got to day 4 (so far Gloucestershire - Calais - Kogenhiem) and the software has stopped calculating a route. Any ideas? Thanks. i made a overview route with 10k km. but there are limits like max point and how you use routing and exeption. like no highways and shortest. they limit range. also arround 200 points is max. better is to make route every day and then keep it under 150 point.

@Stevedo-6-0 After opening the link from @con-hennekens click on Navigation to go directly to the Navigation section. The wording may not say it skips all previous waypoints but it does state that the routes starts from the chosen waypoint. Here’s the bullet point: When starting, you can also start from a specific waypoint by pressing it on the map for a long time.

@richard-3v you could also try setting the off road/skip function on the point you have at Rotterdam this will then draw a straight line path from Hull-Rotterdam [image: 1783454367952-823b761d-cf54-4921-b23c-9276985f5730-image.jpeg]

@Simon-James-Hancock You might (temporarily) use an OSM map for Morocco in your Garmin.

@Reinhard-Punz I think the system is working pretty much as intended Any avoidance setting set in the MRA web planner is set the same in the MRA app for that route, the settings are part of the route & are synchronised in your account When planning if you want to ignore road closures then "Disable Seasonal Closure" option should be enabled this way you can plan the path you want to take regardless of what the road situation maybe today, in 6 months or a year from now The term "Seasonal" is a poor description of what the function does, originally it was for winter high mountain passes but its function has been expanded so now it also ignores temporary road closures If in the navigation app you decide to be online allow traffic aware route calculations of course the app will recalculate the route with the current data it has available As you have correctly discovered if you want to ride a route exactly as you have planned then you have to ride the path as a track & for complete peace of mind be in offline mode, that way nothing can interfere with your plan If you want to ride as a route then your open to changes being made to the planned path You cant blame the app for doing what you tell it to do In your settings you may find it useful to enable the function "Navigation Settings > Screen Layout > Lines > Show Original Route" This displays a white line of the original route/track on the background of the map so you can easily see where the directional path is deviating from the original planed path

I also find the Expand feature to be extremely frustrating at times. Here's an example where I created a 293.63km route with 8 waypoints. I currently export my routes to my Garmin 595 so want to Expand the route to include some extra shaping points. I Expand the route to 15 points total and the new route goes from 293.63km to 553.54km!!!! Note that my original points are all in the correct order. I sure hope that this feature can both be retained and improved in the new planner as when it works it can be very useful.
