At the moment I am riding my bike in the South of Spain. I have tried out sending gpx files via the Connector to my Zumo XT. Normally I would have exported it over my iPhone to the Garmin Drive app on my iPhone without any need for using a cable, but this is in the current beta state obviously not possible (and I hope this will be 'fixed' soon).

When I send a gpx (track) of 312 km via the Connector to my Zumo XT everything works out fine. The track in the Zumo XT is exactly the same as constructed in MRA on my MacBook.

When I send a gpx (track) of 2.512 km (the trip from Estepona in the South of Spain to the Netherlands) via the Connector to my Zumo XT things change. The received track in the Zumo XT stops just somewhere after crossing the Spanish/French border. The rest of the track 'disappeared'.

Ofcourse I won't be riding this in one day but I would like to see the whole route on my Zumo XT. In a later stadium, when having cut the designed route into day trips, trips will be shorter.

Question: is there a maximum to the number of kilometers that I can send in one gpx file over the Connector?

The Zumo XT can only handle 10,000 track points no matter which route planning software you use. You can put long distance tracks on it if you reduce the number of track points. You can do this in Basecamp but not MRA as far as I know. But if you do the resolution of the track is obviously compromised. Other limits of the XT routing are it can only handle 31 via points per route (including the start and finish) and you can have 125 shaping points between via points. To avoid these limits I break my routes/tracks up into daily chunks and never run into these limits.

@Mzokk That explains. Thanks for the answer.

After I create a route of that length I normally copy the trip and split the original to day trips. To test the way the Connector works (I never used it) I tried to send the original, but that obviously doesn't work for the whole distance. When on the road I use to send in MRA created gpx files wireless from the app on my iPhone to Garmin Drive and then to the Zumo XT, but that doesn't function in the beta stadium at the moment. I hope that will be possible (again) soon. When sitting on a terrace some place, you don't use use your laptop, but your phone.
