Route will not start on iPad
-
Hi, we have a charity corso on Saturday and wanted to prepare an iPad with the route for the police (they're still work with paper).
The route will not start after selecting Route or Track.
On another iPad and on iPhone it works
Link to the route: https://www.myrouteapp.com/de/social/route/8838738?mode=share
Any idea what this is?

@Jörgen Maybe the IPad hasn’t a GPS Modul?
-
If no other good suggestions appear, then fall back on:
-
Try restarting the iPad so it's in a 'known' state.
All manner of weird stuff can happen with temporarily cached app data, but that will get cleared on a restart. -
If that has no effect, then the second step is to uninstall and reinstall the app & log back in - that clears the longer term app storage on the iPad.
After those two, at least you know the app and device are in the perfect state to continue the investigation.
(What happens if you try Route instead of Track, by the way?)

@richtea999 route and track are same, nothing worked. Reinstall was done, but restart of iPad not. Good hint.
-
@Reinhard-32 you might be right
Quite often navigation apps won't work as expected on tablets / iPads as they by default don't come with GPS. @Jörgen
-
@Corjan-Meijerink, it would be great if such a message appeared of course
But Androids without GPS still have Google Location Services I suppose.
For iOS I don't know. -
@Con-Hennekens bzw. Jörgen
This iPad Air ( MD793FD/A ) with cellphone should have GPS regarding technical data.
-
And Google maps and Apple maps are working.
MRA shows the location.
-
@Jörgen said in Route will not start on iPad:
This iPad Air ( MD793FD/A ) with cellphone should have GPS regarding technical data.
For the MRA Navigation app the location in the IPad settings should set to allowed.
I have checked the navigation with my IPad 11 pro with wifi+cellphone and it worked. The navigation starts.
-
@Reinhard-32 If you don't have location enabled the app let's you know with a big fat red 'Lcation service not found' banner, so I don't think that's the issue.
-
We have tried everything (restart, reboot, reinstall etc.) but have no success.
Really strange.
-
@Jörgen Maybe ask Corjan to get involved - it smells like a bug to me. A log might point to the problem.
Do other routes start OK on the same misbehaving iPad?
-
@richtea999 no, none.
I saw some instruction how to make a log, but can´t find it. Does anyone know?
-
@Jörgen Long press on the version number in your account page
-
@Nick-Carthew Thank you.
-
Ups, a new bug. Log file can not be made with long press on version number, we tried on two different iPads.
@Corjan-Meijerink how to do it?
-
@Jörgen Agreed - long press for a log works on iPhone, but on iPad it doesn't.
