Thanks for sharing. This has been mentioned before and will be changed in a future update.
It will be possible to select current location / waypoint #1 / waypoint of your choice as the start. Currently it will automatically start at #1 and this cannot be changed.
The only way to get to another waypoint for now is skipping as described by @Tim-Thompson

I use the TomTom route functionality mostly to make a detour to the nearest fuel station or to navigate around a road closure.

Voice prompts regarding waypoints will be configurable later. As a whole, the integration with waypoints will be improved
Voice prompts configuration is something that will be added later too!

@Alain-Spronck If you expand the route on your phone screen, then do a long press on the route point that you wish to start from, you can skip several route points at once.

We might look into different information providers for this data after the final release Note the emphasis on might.
@b0hd1 Please remember that this version of MRA Navigation Next is a beta version for testing. If all the features that will be in the final product were to be implemented now, the testing would become very complicated.
