Number of Tracklog Points
-
Is there a limit on the number of points used to create a tracklog?
The following pictures shows the tracklog in red with the intended route in blue
I am surprised that a tracklog which is supposed to be a trail of tiny breadcrumbs detailing a pretty precise copy of the path taken has so many straight line sections when displayed in MRA

doh! worked out what it is - loss of gps signal due to tunnels

@Brian-McG yesssss Sir, right. It's about receive of GPS signal - which can be lost in streets with high buildings, in forests, in canyons, or in tunnels. You can do nothing against.

@Brian-McG, good find! To add to this, I don't think there is a maximum distance a tracklog can handle. There might be a limit of breadcrumbs though after which the resolution of a tracklog will decrease. Also I think I remember an occurence of an import of a very long tracklog into MRA, that also showed the resolution to be reduced. This can lead to the tracklog not following the road exactly.
