Navigation

Looking at Navigation using my own Android device (Gold Membership) it really looks quite straightforward.
Does the free 14 day trial have limitations?
Does the IOS version differ from AndroidOr
Was the issue simply because he didn't start from the start and I couldn't skip the first waypoint (his error as the waypoing was not his start point but a RDV along the route)

The trial version has no limitations.
When your friend started at the first viapoint that was probably the issue. I dont know where the scip waypoint knob is on a iPhone -
Thank you for your response.
I suspected as much.
The skip waypoints looks to be at the top right but it didn't appear to work properly ( I could choose the next waypoint and thought all was well but the software then tried to route back to the start).
Always difficult to troubleshoot properly when you are out in the field and it is not your device.
Frustrating too as it was me who recommended MRA to him!
We will see how we get on in a few weeks time but have a backup plan in place as again, I don't have time to troubleshoot whilst on a trip.

Go to https://www.myrouteapp.com/support for the user manuals videos etc.

When I stop for a break or lunch I always stop the navigation. Restarting after the break should have you an option to Navigate or stop. Choose Navigate to continue. As for selecting your next waypoint, simply display the route (or waypoints) and long press on the waypoint you wish to continue from.

That sounds rather straightforward!
Thank you!

I wonder if the problem was caused because he didn't actually import the route but rather used the link I shared with him (from MRA).
To open the route again once we closed it we had to go to WhatsApp and take the link again.
For our three day trip I have sent him the files (gpx format) and told him to import to MRA.
I should see him before the trip and will look at what he has done. We can load the route to make sure it goes to the first viapoint and hopefully all will be good.
Thank you for your assistance.

There is no need to import gpx files when you are both using MRA. If you set him up as a friend, he will be able to see your routes (at least the ones shared to friends or public). He can navigate the route directly from your routes or he can "use the route" which makes a copy in his routes.

I tried that but it didn't seem to work hence sending the files and then the link (which I think is the problem).

I tried that but it didn't seem to work
What do you mean by it didn't seem to work?
