show next waypoint information 'Off' or 'Via' or 'All'

Apologies if this has been covered before but I am fairly new to this app.
In the navigation part one of the options you are presented with is "show next waypoint information" 'Off' or 'Via' or 'All'
I am struggling to understand what this means in real world terms and, what is, or is not, displayed on the screen when navigating a route.
Can anyone help explain this please.

During Navigatoin the App shows all Turns on top of the screen:
Example: Turn left in 300 m into xyz street, turn right in 1 km, etc.

At the same place the App also shows waypoints even with the notes you put in while planning the route.
This is a very helpful feature!
Example: waypint xyz in 300 m + Notes!

My expectation would be that
if you switch this "off" during navigation no waypoint will be shown.
if you switch this to "Via" during navigation only Via-Waypoints will be mentioned/shown.
if you switch this to "All" during navigatoin all Waypoints (Via and Shaping points) will be shown.

BUT: my configuration is "Via"
but the App shows all Waypoints.

Is this a Bug or do I understand the configuration option wrong?

@Martin-Hutton Any information that you have added as a note to a route point will be seen as scrolling text.
Either via points or shaping points or none.

Ah ok, I just use Notes for Via-Points. This is the reason I did not identify this.
