Offline Maps and view of the entire path
-
I would like to know why if I use offline maps I can't receive online map updates and vice versa.
Let me explain, I have the offline map loaded, but I'm using the online maps. My route takes me to an area where cellular reception is missing (in the mountains or otherwise). MRA isn't working well because there's no signal. The management of Online/Offline maps should be automatic so that it works at its best.
In the navigation screen, there is a view of the entire route missing. It would be nice if, by pressing the compass, you could switch from the north view, dynamic view, top view, to the full route view.
Thanks

If your maps are downloaded then they are always used for navigation. If data service is not available MRA switches to offline mode. If you know you are going to be in areas with poor coverage I suggest you switch to fully offline operation. To see the entire route long press the compass or select full route in the menus.

I have no issues with online/offline modes.
I have offline maps downloaded and also connected online and it switches between online and offline automatically
-
at my end, it's not automatically. Ther is a popup message, I have to switch to offline in such cases. I need to quit the message, then I should be able to change to offline manually - but after quitting the message, this message pops up immediately! Again an again - it's a nightmare...

What version is your MRA and what device are you using to navigate? Auto switching between offline and online has not been an issue for a long time. If you switch to offline before starting you're route do you still have problems?

If you HAVE offline maps, you ARE USING offline maps if they cover your location. Offline maps and offline navigation are separate things. There is no management of using offline maps or online maps at all. There is management of offline navigation, for cases where you lose internet connection, and in my opinion that works just fine.

It does exactly that... for full route view long press the compass...
Your questions sound sound like you are using an entirely different app

I used version 6.0.0 - 515 and I had downloaded the offline map of the region I drove.
But by the last comment from @motocon , now I'm a bit confused about:
offline- versus online maps
offline- versus online navigationBut I believe, with the upgrade to "Next" and all the new stuff, it's not necessary to discuss such old issues...

@Guzzist, my comment is not intended to raise confusion but to eliminate it

Like I said, Offline maps and Offline navigation are separate things.Offline maps is intended to prevent the need for downloading map tiles on the go. You can download them in advance, so there is no need to download them while riding. Therefore, whenever available, your offline maps will be used. If not available, they will be downloaded on route afterall.
Offline navigation tells the app to do navigational calculations by itself, without help from online (Here) services. Of course to be able to calculate navigational routes depends on the availability of offline maps, but it is not mutual exclusive.
So:
You can navigate online, without the need for offline maps
You can navigate online, including the use of offline maps.
You can navigate offline, completely depending on pre-downloaded maps.
