Offline Navigation
-
Hi there, QQ from a newish user on 'offline navigation'. (When in offline mode - offline maps downloaded and no mobile signal (or data turned off)). How does MRA know where you are in relation to the route you are navigating? ergo; if the route says turn left, how does the app know I have turned left and not deviated from the route? Feel free to point me at an existing post/folder.

@pjwood249 You also need to sync your routes and select offline navigation. Then the GPS chip in your phone does the rest.

@Nick-Carthew Thx Nick, much appreciated.

Besides having downloaded routes, downloaded maps, and synchronized routes... does the app automatically switch between areas with and without network coverage? I've noticed that if you activate offline mode, you're always offline. So, for this automatic switching to work, does the offline option need to be turned off (red)?

Yes. With ALL the offline maps required for the route and synced routes, the app will use these if the network data signal is lost.
