Statement about device limit

@Con-Hennekens Yes, I saw this option a few days ago. However, this message didn't appear today, and my account was immediately blocked. I use up to four devices, but always alternately and never simultaneously. I think it shouldn't matter to the operators of the "MyRouteApp" if I use the app on more than two devices, as long as it's not at the same time. At least, that's how I understood the announcement.

If you use up to three devices alternately, but at the fourth device added, you account is blocked. Three is the max limit.

Thanks for the information. It's still a shame, though, and I hope the MyRouteApp developers reconsider this strategy. I understand the reasoning behind it and support it. However, if the costs are indeed incurred due to the number of simultaneous map system uses, it shouldn't matter how many devices I use the app on, as long as it's not done at the same time.

@Reinhard-Punz, you are forgetting the part of the release notes that explained that HERE is charging per device. Therefore a limit is in place, and you can contact support for extra device licences if necessary.
because of new contracts with our suppliers we also have to implement a device limit per subscription.
As we now pay per active phone we cannot (ignorantly) allow users to use our app on an unlimited amount of phones. -
Maybe i missed it somewhere but can i see how many devices are logged with my account?
I have a third device (use it very occassionly) with the app installed. Because of the new rule i uninstalled the app on that third device but i did not logged out first. So in theory i'm still logged in with 3 devices. But can i check that?

@M.-Schrijver, yes: profile icon top right, scroll down, second option from below: My Devices.

You will only be able to see the two active device. If you log on to the third, you will be asked to logoff one of the two available.

Hi all!

Next week we will have a quick update to improve some minor issues caused by changes regarding the device limit. So this won't be the "big" next update (5.1) but just a very minor one.
Anyway, regardless of that update we already were able to make some adjustment to the device limit logic. The following therefore does not require an app update. The change we made is that if you are blocked because of too many device, we only block your new devices. Meaning the original 2 devices you used will still be accessible. We received some feedback of users getting accidentally blocked and where they understood our rational I believe they all made a very valid point that being blocked out on all devices is a bit excessive. Hence, we've made this change

Overall we are extremely happy with the device limit feature as motorclubs / companies using one license for literally 40 people have already been blocked. This now results in them either buying the appropriate amount of licenses or simply disliking us
This is still the preferred approach over raising prices for everyone to cover the costs of those abusing a single license. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to legitimate users who just like to use more devices.
Cheers,
Corjan@Corjan-MeijerinExactl This happened in about 2015 on SkyDemon flight planning and moving map program for the same reason users were letting multiple people log on with their details costing the company many many pounds. That was pure theft.

@Lluis-Arasanz I didn't mean to be rude. Since I don't speak English, I'm dependent on translation programs. I'll give it a try; hopefully, it will work.
Thanks a lot for you try. I appreciate your effort.
My English is bad, I know, so I have to use also translate programs.
Regards,

@Cleo your feedback was part of the decision

Dat lijkt me teveel eer.

You can work around a lot everybody has diverencend wishes. If i can get extra licenses and want to pay for it is a nice bussinesscase for the Next app and get more freedom the easy way. More licenses is nothing new in the bussines. But let Myrouteapp cook some nice features and we will see what the feature bring.

that is one serious level of taking the piss so can fully understand why something had to be done
