Statement about device limit

And what exactly does the block on the new device involve? Does this need to be removed by you, or can I still log out of an old device and then immediately log in on the new one?
-
I agree; this approach is both strategic and prudent.

@CD130 The block can only be removed by system admins and is only triggered using your device limit + 2 different devices (so 4 in default scenario) within the same month.

Hi all!

Next week we will have a quick update to improve some minor issues caused by changes regarding the device limit. So this won't be the "big" next update (5.1) but just a very minor one.
Anyway, regardless of that update we already were able to make some adjustment to the device limit logic. The following therefore does not require an app update. The change we made is that if you are blocked because of too many device, we only block your new devices. Meaning the original 2 devices you used will still be accessible. We received some feedback of users getting accidentally blocked and where they understood our rational I believe they all made a very valid point that being blocked out on all devices is a bit excessive. Hence, we've made this change

Overall we are extremely happy with the device limit feature as motorclubs / companies using one license for literally 40 people have already been blocked. This now results in them either buying the appropriate amount of licenses or simply disliking us
This is still the preferred approach over raising prices for everyone to cover the costs of those abusing a single license. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to legitimate users who just like to use more devices.
Cheers,
Corjan@Corjan-Meijerink Quick question: I currently have the app registered on two devices. Next day, I’ll be buying a new phone. If I remove one of the existing registered devices and then register the new one, will that still count as two registered devices, or will it be considered three?

@Adrian-Avram, your third device will be no problem whatsoever. You can just unlist your old phone and start using the new one. Blocking is only done with your fourth device in a month, and with excessive unlisting/relisting of phones. Your scenario really is no problem at all.

Way to go Corjan. Everyone thinking they can buy one licence and then sharing it with his club / company must shurely see that he or she is being a cheep a....
If you have three devices and log them off if you need to use the third device that wouldn't be a problem I think.
The question of a couple a users is when they buy a new phone or other device, can they log off permenantly the phone or device that was replaced by the new one or do they nee help from the team to prevent being blocked as the result of entering a new device. -
This is a way better solution then a total blockade, thumbs up

@Cleo your feedback was part of the decision

Hello @Corjan-Meijerink,
I can understand all this very well here.
It is very important to inform the honest users of the MRA license well.
The mailing must be well prepared, perhaps supplemented by a well-prepared, understandable graphic to make it understandable.
I know some who have 3 devices (2 mobile phones and 1 iPad) and when setting up the fourth maybe a new device do not worry.
Maybe a message that indicates that you should deregister an old or the new one by a time x will help here because four devices have just appeared.
Good luck with that

Hallo @Corjan-Meijerink,
Viel Erfolg dabei

To be clear: I understand, respect, and support the limitation to prevent abuse.
I am one of the users who has installed the MRA app on multiple devices; currently on 4, soon on 5. That's why I'm seriously considering purchasing a second license — can I add it to my existing account so I can use 4 devices in parallel (instead of 2) or 6 devices activated alternately (instead of 3)?
At least the message "Your limit: 2 devices" suggests that the limit can be increased. Does this work with a second license?

@Martin-Wilcke yes! That works

I’d recommend reaching out to our support department by creating a ticket or mailing support@myrouteapp.com. We can indeed increase the limit.Users that approach the limit will receive a mail with offers soon. It’s not automated yet
