Update 5.0.3 - Device management
-
Hi everyone!

It is time for a new update!
Device management

This is the core aspect of this update.
Unfortunately we are seeing a massive amount of account sharing going on.
At MyRoute-app we try our hardest every single day to be customer oriented and keeping our prices low. As of this year our base prices for subscriptions had to be increased (for the first time since 2021) and because of new contracts with our suppliers we also have to implement a device limit per subscription. As we now pay per active phone we cannot (ignorantly) allow users to use our app on an unlimited amount of phones. As of this update we allow a maximum of 2 devices to be used at the same time. When exceeding this limit (3 devices) you will be presented a beautiful interface in which you can deregister another device. After doing so, you can use your current phone again

Some important notes:
- Excessively switching between multiple phones will lead to an automatic warning
- Attempts to use way too many devices (4) at once will lead to an automatic block
Our terms & conditions will be updated appropriately.
Simply put: times of sharing your account with big groups of friends or your club are over, sharing with your partner / personal use on a few devices is still allowed.A full announcement can be read here: https://info.myrouteapp.com/limit-of-2-devices/
SSO fixed
Signing into the app using a SSO authentication method (such as Apple or Google) was broken. Luckily this has now been fixed!

Link and file opening
Opening links and files with the app has always been possible.
In this update the stability of these features has been improved to ensure it works as expected when the app is in any state (such as terminated / in the background / opened).Audio stability Android
In some rare cases a clean install of the app would not output any audio while navigating - this now seems fixed.Minor fixes and stability improvements
Many small issues that are not relevant to mention here have been fixed.
Also we fixed a few errors that would result in route calculations failing.
Finally a few critical CarPlay / Android Auto errors have been solved and we added a bit more logging to investigate some persistent issues a few users have. What's next
Slowly but surely we are transitioning to a more focused dedication on the website.
In the next update 5.1 we will:- Aim for solving all stability issues CarPlay and Android Auto
- Add highly requested features to CarPlay and Android Auto
- Major technical internal updates
Cheers,
Corjan -

I have a question about that!
I have the app running on four devices.1 Pixel 9 online (used for navigation)
1 Motorola Edge 40 offline (used in parallel with navigationThen I have another Pixel 9 that I use as my everyday device and use in case of changes during the tour (so I can leave the other device in the navigation holder) and make changes via synchronization!
Last but not least, I also have the app installed on an iPad....
These 4 devices are used exclusively by ME ONLY.
What do I need to do to continue using these 4 devices?

@AWDC-LAO Quote: "As of this update we allow a maximum of 2 devices to be used at the same time." Unquote
You can still have it installed at al your devices, only the simultaneous use is limited (which I find understandable).

When significantly exceeding the limit it's best to contact our support department.
We simply cannot support unlimited devices per account anymore. A custom solution will be found per account. We do not block the installations but monitor usage of your subscription and limit that.
Example of a recent support ticket:
- One account with 4 devices
- 2 for husband, 2 for wife
- Offered to upgrade account to 4 devices for another purchase
- Means they can continue to share the account
- Customer happy and we've covered the costs of all their devices so our prices can remain low
Note: the device limit only concerns the app for Navigation Next users. Not the website or other users using the app.

@Corjan-Meijerink The following scenario...
The iPad is at home, ‘switched off’.I am riding my motorbike and have the Pixel 9 online navigation mobile phone and MRA active, and my everyday Pixel 9 mobile phone is also online, but the MRA app is NOT active. The Motorola Edge 40 is also being used in parallel with the navigation system and is ‘completely OFFLINE’. MRA is also active.
What happens if I start the MRA app on my everyday mobile phone and want to make a correction to the route?
From this point on, three devices would be active with MRA (BUT ONLY TWO DEVICES ARE ONLINE).Please reply.

Hello,
I don't think this rule is right because I use one phone for motorcycle navigation, another for CarPlay, and an iPad for route planning on the go. Why can't it be like Spotify, where only one device can be logged in at a time? It's a shame; this makes the app unusable for many of my acquaintances, and I certainly can't recommend it anymore. -

So planning on the go should work as long as only two devices are online.
Please enlighten me if this is not correct

Hi all,
I found that device limit is something good to left no one abuse this application.
I know also that more and more people installs in 2 phones (primary and backup) and uses a bigger screen, like a tablet, to route edit.
Perhaps, the device limit can be "launch" when user tries to "Navigate" a route? This allow use more devices for planning scenarios with no limits , but only a max of 2 to navigate.
Regards

You are using 2 devices as intended and sometimes a third.
When using the third you will be asked to unlist one of the other active devices which is a very smooth action with no impact at all. -

@Peter-Zehentreiter You would indeed be using too many devices.
Contacting customer support is the way. -

Also when one of these 3 devices is completely offline?

@Peter-Zehentreiter At one point you will be online and that's the point where we know what devices you used. In theory if you would never use internet we indeed cannot track the device
