Another Failed trip...UHG

@D-Griffin I don't think it will affect the truck navigation since the phone AA app is not involved. As for Goggle Maps, I suspect it overrides the setting and uses the phone GPS rather than the AA GPS. Cheers!

Exactly that

@D-Griffin, Glad to hear things improved by this much! To me this is "proof" that your AA device indeed does have a GPS chipset, that gets used when connected through Android Auto, and it does not function properly. Just like I suspected.
What my "trick" does is merely prohibit the Android Auto app on your phone from using the GPS chipset built into your AA device. As a result, the Location Service on your phone falls back to using the phone's GPS chipset. This can always be reversed without problem, and yes, it will have effect on Google Maps to but you will likely not notice that.
The reason Google maps did not suffer from the same problem as the MRA app, probably lies in a workaround implemented in gMaps (and some other apps) that identifies problematic hardware and makes the choice to use the phone's hardware instead of the AA device's built-in one automatically. That's just an assumption though.
So, it is not really "fixed", but "worked around" and it enables you to use the app normally just like in my case. In my own case the problem was a little different. My AA GPS would not deliver correct speed information. From another case (also a Ford Sync system) I even heard of it driving backwards. The GPS stream literally was reversed... Isn't technology a beautiful thing?

@Con-Hennekens Thanks so much, I do have 1 more question. I noticed Sunday as well as yesterday on my ride, while navigating the buttons that recenter the route and also allow you to zoom in and out on the route were very difficult to see. Normally i believe they have been white and very easy to locate and navigate thru. Is this another setting on my phone? or is this in the MRA settings? Now these buttons are very hard to see, almost blacked out when I'm in full day light. This pics was taken in my garage at 5:00 a.m. so "night" mode is probably on, even when night mode shuts off these buttons are still very dark...Thanks again!

@D-Griffin, Yes, in night-mode the theme goes dark. In day-mode it depends on your MRA-App Setting. From the start screen, tap the profile icon top-right, choose Ap-Theme from the list. There you have three choices, you can force the light theme here. Personally I prefer lowering the brightness of the light theme at night indeed.

@Con-Hennekens Hey Con just like promised I told you I would check back in. We put around 170 miles on today. I did 2 routes. I to lunch and 1 from lunch to home. I am happy to report that the icon never left the planned route in any of the 170 miles! I was so excited, it put that "riding" smile back on my face knowing i wasn't gonna get lost. However I still have the blacked out screen icons. I went into app theme and it's on light mode, my phone is on light mode. Is there something more I could be missing? Attached are pics of what I'm seeing on the road. I tried using dark mode, no change except a dark screen!

@D-Griffin, I have no idea, I have never seen it like that. Could it be some theme setting of your AA device instead of the app?

@Con-Hennekens When we were out on Saturday, I was playing with the AA device, I cant find anything in the settings that i think would affect this. If u look in the picture the "gear" Icon is still white, but the others are dark! Why not all of them dark. Weird

@Con-Hennekens Just wanted to reach out, Nick emailed me and said they received a few more tickets about the dark icons. He said they are working on an update and it should fix the issue. I appreciate @nickcarthew and his dedication to this product. He could of easily blew me off and let this go. However he didn't, he reached out and let me know whats going on and what id planned. Great customer service...

@D-Griffin, That's great, Kudos to @Nick-Carthew
I heard the same thing indeed. This community for sure has no interest in blowing people off

Hey @D-Griffin @Con-Hennekens I was merely the messenger, kudos goes to @Corjan-Meijerink and the development team.

I also had this problem with the dark buttons, and I can promise you that it will be fixed after the next update. I have the Beta version 5.0.0. and drove with it today, and the buttons are bright again as usual!
