HERE maps updates
-
Hello Team.
I understand there must be a financial reason for using HERE as the base map for the routplanner and Navigation. But to be blunt, that map S#cks.
End of last year they started some roadworks close to my house which finished already in March this year. HERE maps still shows that road as closed, even though I already sent a correction (as advised by MRA) months ago. It still isn't updated.
We drove 2 weeks through Norway about two weeks ago, using the MRA Planner and Navigation and we had several roads which were closed and not reported as such by HERE. Seasonal closures still shown on HERE as closed which were already opened for weeks.I know MRA can't do much about that, but using those maps has a direct influence on your software and by their fault makes yours untrustworthy. In one case we had to make a 75 km detour because a tunnel was closed which was not reported by HERE. (To be honost, best detour I had in years
)Me personally, I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra to be able to make use of base maps which do perform a regular base update on the current situations (like Google Maps, Waze or TomTom).
Hopefully there will be change in this situation because I really like both applications and have been using them for 15 years already (Switched from TomTom nav to MRA Navigation last year).

I totally agree with you on that.
I, too, would be willing to pay more right away for Google, for example. -
I'm not sure. But i thought i read something on this forum where someone said that the traffic info doesn't come from Here but from a different source.
From what i can find is that Skoda Elroq's built-in Nav is also built on Here. I don't know if the traffic info is also from Here. But in the Skoda the traffic info is pretty good. MRA is indeed behind on this point. I've seen this on several moments.

Wherever the data comes from?
The current situation is unsatisfactory!
Iβm also tired of constantly finding on other platforms that either a block is in place but Here doesnβt show it, or Here shows a block but it actually no longer exists.
I would immediately support switching to a reliable provider.
As for the suggestions to report potential errors to HereβIβve done that several timesβ¦ but it takes weeks or even months for the report to be processed.
Google Maps is a prime example of how it can work.
