I have the Units in my account profile set to Imperial (mi, GB):

When I display a Tracklog using the website, the minimum and maximum height use Imperial units:

However, the app displays the same Tracklog height details in Metric:

@Andy-W No bug! The answer is as logical as it is simple: both the website (Routeplanner) and the app have a settings menu. According to the images you attached, you have the distance unit set to metric in the app and to imperial (GB or US) in the Routeplanner.

@nick-carthew so would it make sense that imperial GB does show metric for altitude?

But then @Andy-W would expect feet for altitude when using imperial US.

I have no clue here what is expected cause even the countries using imperial aren’t consistent. It’s always a 9mm gun but never a 0.3 inch gun πŸ˜‰

No. The settings are the same in both and I would expect them to be as it is a single account for MRA.

@Andy-W Okay, didn't expect that. I can only reproduce this when settings are different... or am I overlooking something?

@Corjan-Meijerink Yes, I see it now. Definitely not something I would have noticed like that. I had only changed the notation in the planner and then saw that the app was showing meters. But apparently, it is a bug. πŸ˜‰

@Andy-W sorry about the misunderstanding πŸ˜‡

For me it’s just not always understanding when imperial uses what unit πŸ˜†

That’s why I asked @nick-carthew on the GB view. If the consensus is indeed that US imperial always want feet for altitude, sure thing πŸ™‚

I would say it's about time they get used to metric, like we all are used to English. Do something in return! πŸ˜‰

@Con-Hennekens sorry we are not adopting the kilometer, unless of course europe is prepared to start driving on the left/correct side of the road πŸ˜‚

if it is a binary choice, imperial or metric, then IMO the imperial choice should result in the altitude being in feet
it makes no sense to choose imperial & then find the result is in meters

the alternative is to make it a non-binary choice by allowing the units for speed, distance & altitude to be chosen independently but this probably will be at the expense of complicating the UI & backend code

@Corjan-Meijerink The UK use whatever measurements suit us best 😊

In the UK feet and inches are used for height measurements and yards and miles are used for distance.

The US use feet and inches for height and feet and miles for distance.
