Thank all of you for the replies.
and using the opportunity: my apologies for being so absent here the last 8 months or so. Life has not been all to friendly lately (but we are all fine healthwise, which I guess is the most important thing). However, I missed all the testing

Anyway, back to the subject.
Many people here in Belgium have a 4GB a month limit on their data traffic.
The current options in the navigation map are "online" or "offline" and I wonder a bit what that means (it is probably somewhere in a manual).
If online would mean that map sections are still downloaded while a downloaded map is also available on the phone, then I would favour a "hybrid" mode where all map data is taken from the local copy, and only fast changing data (such as traffic jams) are downloaded.
In addition, a local map makes that the navigation also functions in area's with poor network coverage.
and it could have an influence on battery life on some phones?
But perhaps I have just missed to much info lately
