Route from Tring in Herts to Newcastle OT.....Any suggestions?
-
I am travelling from Tring in Hertfordshire to Newcastle on Tyne on Sunday. I want to find a route, or a combination of routes that can get me there without motorways etc. As interesting as possible.
Any suggestions?
I have followed the A6 from Bedford to the Lakes before.
So following another old road (Not the A1!) is of interest. All ideas, B-roads and back roads, are welcome.
Thanks
Mark

Hi @mark-harvey. I have moved your new topic post to the more suitable Routes and Tracks category.
I will have a look in my library later, have you tried finding a route or routes in the MRA RouteXpert Library. There maybe something there that you could alter to suit your needs. https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/library/countries -

@mark-harvey Getting through that Luton / Milton Keynes / Bedford triangle from Tring is the biggest ask, really! Sure, you could go around it by heading for Bicester / Banbury / Daventry but where's the challenge in that?

How about something based on this:

If you don't know it, I think the section from Peterborough area to the Humber might give rise to a few grins.
