I think you are reffering to the App and not the Routeplanner where this part of the Forum is for. @BertM Sorry, I phrased this misleadingly, as I now realize. I meant: Have the website support the creation/manipulation of custom POIs (as described) plus have the MRA smartphone app support routes that have these accordingly in the way I also described.

@Nick-Carthew Thank you Nick I will check on Googlemaps tomorrow as it is 16:26hrs. Anyway, as an example, what i see with Kurvinger using OpenStreetMap is very useful. ![alt text]([image: 1736177221690-capture-d-%C3%A9cran-2025-01-06-%C3%A0-15.32.28.jpg] image url)

@Michele-Skipper for what i understand is, you created 1 single route and now you want to divide it over several days based on distance/time like start date/end date /start time/end time.. am i correct? in all fairness, i don't think this is possible. The only correct way to divide a long route in several routes is to use the split option as already suggested.

@Martin-Wilcke Thank you for the great answer. I do export as Zumo XT 1.2 and rarely have an issue. But I have now learned that have to FEW shaping points can/will cause the Zumo to look for the default selection (Fastest, Shortest, Curvy) if it doesn't have another shaping point close enough to the last. I'm still unclear on the value of export Route as a Track. Even after Serg's video I'm not sure what I am gaining. vs export to 1.2

ah! and it disappears if there is nothing in it. Subtle. That's why I thought there wasn't one.

@Marinus-van-Deudekom Thank you for your advice - even if it adds some more confusion I never thought about how "tracklogs" appear in different apps, and the discussion here is not about converting tracks to routes. It's all about importing tracks to MRA / Routelab the best way. As mentioned above, I'm going to import everything as route-track.

@MoToBiene said in My "wish list" for POIs: @BertM said in My "wish list" for POIs: Wenn ich es als Routenpunkt hinzufüge, kann ich Text, Farbe usw. hinzufügen. Hi Bert - that's close to my problem. I can only import POIs into the library. I can't create a collection here and then collect points. I understand now what you mean: you cannot export the POI you created in a route.

To clarify: it shows tracklogs + photos from participants that use MRA Navigation to drive the routes you upload. I don't think the timeline can be used to add details ahead of the trip. Instead I would recommend: adding those details to the routes themselves give the routes names that include the date, as well as the start and end towns, they should be easy enough to find, for example 0617 (Tue) Rosslare - Cork for a trip on Tuesday, June 17, from Rosslare to Cork. By putting the month first, you can sort the routes by name to get them in chronological order.

  • Question about ROUTE NAVIGATION VERSUS TRACK NAVIGATION!

@Thomas-Scharrer, I think you are referring to unplanned stops AWAY from the route? Yes, multiple recalculations in that case can throw off your route indeed. You can prevent that by adding the unplanned stop to your route on the fly (by long pressing on the map, or by the menu). The track navigation will not auto skip waypoints like routes do. I think it will be a step forward in your case. Remember you can always re-enter the track at a desired location, simply by long pressing on the track where you want to re-enter. But on the other hand, using routes you can also easily reroute through any desired shapingpoint by just pressing it...
