Just for the record, I don’t use Facebook either. I can see why organisations might put stuff on it, but there does seem to be a heavy dose of assumption attached to such actions. And you know what they say about assumptions!🙂
That doesn't change anything - I have the same problem (iOS 14.6). The voice-guided navigation announcements are very slow. This is extremely cumbersome when driving. The integration of the language package is very poorly solved.
@Con-Hennekens
Yes I agree totally that having the files split by days is a far better option but the OP did ask for a solution to “Merge” individual routes which is not currently possible but splitting the whole Multi Day route is. (and therefore possibly less work)
Also agree on MRA Navigation use and the issues.
I don’t generally use it but have ran some tests recently on my Samsung S10 5G.
I haven’t had any issues with it so far but do see issues for iOS on my iPad but can’t test it on the road.
Good tip to calculate --% extra. 😉
But, when I make a route of 3 to 4 weeks traveling every day, I prefer the software calculate for me. 😊
Every country in Europe has its own speed limit, in France the speed is 130 km/hr. The profit when you can use a camper preset, the software / navigation will select automaticly a route thats shorter or quicker than the “curve” of the highway (mostly payed).
A camper preset is really ideal, just like the current preset of the bike or walking. 😊
Oh yes, I may have been a bit too harsh in what I said earlier. I was under the impression that waypoints had to be skipped one by one, but as @Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master pointed out, you can put the whole route into offline-mode through the toolkit. Then, if you are Gold member you can change to the TOPO map and with that you have a much better terrain view. I think it is pretty similar to Basecamp afterall.
I definitely think MRA is worth the price! Personally I got hold of lifetime membership as one of the pioneers, for an incredibly low price (don't remember exactly but I think it was 79,- or so). To be honest, I don't think I would go fo a lifetime at the current pricing. Even the special bid of 199 is 5 years the monthly fee. I think I would go for the "spread payment" instead of pay in one fee. (I hope I am not kicking into someones knee 😁 )
Icreate favourites (= personal points of interest) throughout the year using my own naming convention. These points are gathered reading magazines, books, tourisitc brochures and are thus noted as places to visit.
All these favourites come in very handy when organising the next road trip.
If I remember well, an extension to the current POI/favourites is foreseen on the MRA roadmap
@Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master
hans
@Martin-P-Williams I’ve not noticed the site being slower. The track line shown on the various maps just highlights the fact that each map is slightly different. This is due to the satellite data used when the maps are created. The Google car will drive a stretch of road one day and a few days latter the TomTom car will drive the same stretch and both will have slightly different data. The position and strength of signal from satellites is variable leading to discrepancies in the various maps. This can also affect our own GPS devices which is why we advice not placing route points too close to roundabouts, junctions or viaducts.
Ok. Thanks a lot for your answers . My question was indeed to know on which map to build my route on the computer to avoid a conflict between two different maps between MRA and MRA NAV. Now, I know it's the HERE map... 😃
@Con-Hennekens Ui, you have the same phone? I'm afraid that the camera's optical image stabilizer could be damaged by vibrations. How long have you been using the P30Pro?
It's about 2 years old, but I am not a very frequent driver. I use an X-Grip and make sure the back of the phone does not touch the core of X-Grip. So my phone is hanging in the rubber fingers of it.
@Andrew-Thompson-0 Hi Andrew. I’m sorry to hear that you are not happy with the navigation app. You can use it for cycling and the algorithms will adjust to suit, unfortunately the Here map used for Navigation doesn’t recognise all of the cycling tracks.
Make a ticket in the MRA support section and explain your problem, I’m sure that MRA will be able to help.
@Aiello-antonino As you know, I had much the same problems and created a support ticket. I received a confirmation email this morning, saying that this should now be sorted and asking me to check. For me, all is working fine now.
It might be worth clearing your browser caches and deleting & reinstalling the MRA app which, while far from ideal, shouldn’t cause any issues (unlike deleting the Navigation app if you have offline maps installed).
