I'm planning a 14 day trip for next June. Part of that includes fuel and food stops. As the smallest tank is about 100 miles, i want to plan them every 80 miles.

The bar at the bottom of the route screen can be moved to show route progression, but i wonder if it would be helpful if it could show mileage and timing as you move the pointer along the blue line.

Currently i'm having to guess where 80 miles is by placing way points then removing them.

Also it would be handy if you could then search for objects (such as food, fuel etc) within say 20 miles of that point on the blue bar to help you find them.

Also currently, i'm going up and down the route, manually trying to find these fuels stops.

Maybe i'm doing it wrong so any advice very welcome, but if not then these would be handy features for route planning for groups.

@Solo1138 Use the waypoint list in the left menu for mileage and search for fuel stations with the Fuel POI turned on.

Always willing to help if I can.

@Solo1138 I have suggested that a distance scale on the blue bar would be useful and I think that the developers are considering it or something similar for the major overhaul of the route planner.

I use this method Nick, but it is a time consuming hit and miss way to do this when planning a big ride with time constraints in the planning stage. An alternative would be if you could add a range waypoint at specified distances. Currently you can increase the number of waypoints in the route via the Gold menu. An additional Gold menu could be to add markers at a specified milage to suit. That would (IMHO) be even better than the range being overlaid on the Position slider as suggested but either would be helpful to enable fast planning
