    Hello Team

    While on the road looking for spots with good internet, I discovered that there is no pause or warning if you click a running download. So if you are nearly at the finish and accidentally hit the download, all what I had downloaded so far was gone 😞

    If you don’t have a reliable and good connection it is a difficult to get the map.

    So please make the download of maps more user friendly. With a pause option and warnings when you will loose your offline maps.

    I had downloaded the entire Europe map and was told that there is an update. Instead of making the update I lost the old map and at the end had nothing. I think I double touched the button to make the update.

    Now trying and fighting to get at least back the country back, I am currently visiting.

    Many thanks.

      @Cookie-On-Tour
      It is easy to become fixated about having the latest update for offline maps, I can fully understand that, you see that there is an update available and you automatically think that without the latest map update your route could go wrong. The reality is that there is a significant chance that your route will not be affected.
      Only update the offline maps when you’re sat at home on the sofa with good wi-fi and a cool drink in your hand.
      I would also recommend only having the offline maps downloaded for the countries or regions that you are likely to be travelling through, then the updates are downloaded more quickly.

        Nick and friends, a passing thought...

        In this Internet world of ransomware, fishing, viruses, etc., many of us have been conditioned to download the latest update to anything, or else....

        But updating map files are different. Generally it's not essential to have the very latest as soon as it appears. For me, though, even knowing that, I have to consciously remember... oh yeah, it's just a map update, it can wait (assuming I'm right about that).

        Might be helpful if we clearly make the point that updating map files is a different thing from updating software itself.

        Vinnie
