I'm using MyRouteApp on an Eonon ua12s android head unit in a Camper. Everytime I turn off the ignition, the unit goes into sleep mode. When I then turn the ignition on again, the unit wakes up and the internet connection is being restored within about 15 seconds. The MyRouteApp and the route that I had planned and active is also woken up correctly, but the app immediately complains it can't navigate because there is no internet connection. Despite the connection being restored very quickly, MyRouteApp takes about 1 to 2 minutes before seeing that there is internet.
This duration is becoming annoying after a while and in fact the same happens if you lose internet for a short time (e.g. when going under a tunnel).
Anyone feels the same or is it just me ?
I'm also testing TomTom apps, Magic Earth, OSMAnd, Waze, .... and none of these have issues with this at all. The experience with these latter apps is less interrupted.

edit: I noted that I posted this in the incorrect sub-forum. Could an admin move this to the "MyRouteApp/Problems, Bugs and Other issues" please ?

@Afterforever666, This is by design. The app goes into offline mode to be able to calculatie on the offline maps. It checks after 2 minutes if the connection has been rstored. It only goes to offline mode when internet data is asked for and internet is disconnected. I see no possibility to improve for an internet connection that is not there.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

@Con-Hennekens Thank you for your thoughts on this. It may be by design, but to be honest I think the design is flawed then. Worst case, if you don't have any online maps downloaded (which can be the case on devices with less storage space) you have to wait two full minutes before you can start navigating. It may seem like nit-picking, but just try to wait to start driving for two minutes every time you get in your car. In fact, if may device is able to get an Internet connection after 15 seconds why would any app not start using that connection immediately. None of the other applications that I'm using have this issue except if there is really no connection or it drops for a longer time (> 1 min). Try it with waze : when you're offline it will complain, but the second Internet is restored it continues online. I just mean to say that there are designs possible where this is mitigated better.
In fact, I'm professionally employed in the sector of navigation and minimising Internet disconnection is a top tier requirement in our area.
I know such things are not implemented overnight, but it's something a good reviewer would list as a negative.
Trying to be helpful here and give the myrouteapp team hints on where customer experience can be improved.

@Afterforever666, Devs are reading along here, you could also try a post in the suggestions area. I am not saying there is no room for improvement ๐Ÿ˜‰ The map itself will usually come from cache, even without offline maps (the latest active map segment). I think the 2 minutes are mainly based on the fact that no one wants online/offline messages every 10 seconds obscuring your map info, if your connection is flipping, what often can happen in bad reception areas. But to be honest, if your device does not have enough memory to download some local maps offline, I am inclined to consider it not suitable for any navigation task.

I can indeed increase the frequency of checking whether internet is available again ๐Ÿ™‚

@Corjan-Meijerink I think it would make sense to test with a more frequent check interval. Another thing that @Con-Hennekens mentions is the obscuring dialog. Maybe that can be made more discrete with an icon or so flashing instead of with a dialog that needs confirmation. Same applies to the liability message that I mentioned in a different post. That one is also a modal dialog that appears on every start of navigation which is crazy annoying (to me at least ๐Ÿ˜).
I any case, thanks for checking the possibilities!
