Follow up about my first test of the new version (4.2.0)

The upgrade really was a new (and separate) functionality: the in-app routeplanner.
I am curious what exactly has changed for you.
A change has been made regarding “follow the line” but I cannot imagine you prefer that over active route navigation
As responded in the other thread, I now believe you never started the navigation. The continue prompt only shows when you aren’t navigating.
So maybe, you just need to start the active navigation
I just got back from the Eifel in Germany but with the new update no problem at all via CarPlay either

@Corjan-Meijerink when i start navigation, that is when it randomly pops up the message asking "Do you want to continue" Having this message pop up while riding is not only annoying but dangerous. When i press "continue" the app locks up. This is WHILE riding along.

@Corjan-Meijerink I used to be able to Open the route, press the compass button twice to have a 3D view and then follow the line. Simple, easy. Now pressing the compass button twice just shows a DOT. When i try following the DOT the map wont track and the DOT goes off the edge of the map.

hi,
new version update
i have just returned from an 8 day trip around the highlands of Scotland.All my maps and routes were dowloaded prior to leaving.
all navigation was done offline. MRA did not let me down at all, except on one of the trips,
for some reason it tried to get me to do a u-turn for two waypoints that i know i passed on my route. eventually it automatically skipped both of them. I checked the route and the waypoints were placed exactly in the middle of the road and there were no diversions. unsure why this happened.one of my routes had to be changed due to a road closure, fortunately i found this out the night before so managed to amend the route, and i used the MRA routplanner, in the next app, i could use this as i am a beta tester, this was very easy to use and worked perfectly the next day when I drove the route.
i can only speak from experience but MRA worked very well this time, i have now definitely stopped using all other navigation devices for planning and touring,
thanks @Corjan-Meijerink and the team,
i know this will not be much help to @Michael-Doherty-0 but you should try to stick with it as this app really works well. there will be reason you had issues, and once you get to the bottom of these i believe you will be a happy teddy. -

Thanks for the positive feedback. Waypoints might very incidentally not be marked as visited when in really poor reception / just by chance. Great the app solved it by itself!
Happy that the in-app planner did its work too!

@Michael-Doherty-0 why not just start the active navigation?
@Corjan-Meijerink I DO USE THE NAVIGATION. while NAVIGATING...it randomly STOPS....asks me " DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE"... I click "CONTINUE" this wen the app crashes. I have to close the app, restart it. and get back to my route. Im sorry if i seem frustrated. But having people tell me it works fine for them , does not fix the issues i an having.

and that is what i wrote, once you find out why the issues occur, it will be good, it wasn't to rub your face in it, i was merely writing some feedback.

I uninstalled, re-started my Android phone, then re-installed. After downloading all necessary maps and re-configuring the app nothing changed
The function i used most with the previous version still does not work. For me, NOT using the navigation was the best way to do motorcycle rides. But now with the new version, after opening the ride, i no longer can touch the compass button to zoom in to a 3D view and follow the line. It will not track on the map. Using the Navigate feature, it get random "do you want to continue" messages while riding, causing the app to crash. The app seems unstable. I and NOT a computer/phone engineer. i AM an expert motorcycle racer/rider with 55 years in the saddle. My initial impression is that MRA has become to complicated and has to many features that motorcyclists don't need. Simplicity is a motorcyclists friend. But that is just my opinion. I will continue to experiment with it going forward, but will use my second phone and another app as back up for the rest of the riding season. Thank you for the suggestions in my previous post. - MikeD
@Michael-Doherty-0 It looks like them navigation app was designed and runs fine on apple car play and then converted to android auto, with all kinds of problems following.
It's just a small company with a few developers so progress is slow.

@Ton-Verkleij outright not true.
Wouldn’t call progress slow to be fair. For a small team an amazing amount of work is being done. -

The App crashes for me each time I open music app Spotify, go back to route-app and its blank.
I now have to invest in other software for my 10 day ride next month, looks like I will have to invest in Calimoto to ensure I get there and back.This is the only long ride this year so hopefully they can get some of these bigger bugs squashed by then.

@Michael-Doherty-0, The dot follows you, not the other way around
You should not press the compass twice, but only once, for the arrow to become full black instead of outlined.
@Corjan-Meijerink, can it be that the 3D view in "follow the line" mode has been deprecated? I think Michael has a point here. I don't get the 3D view either, but to be honest I can't remember if it was there before...

@Ton-Verkleij outright not true.
Wouldn’t call progress slow to be fair. For a small team an amazing amount of work is being done.@Corjan-Meijerink I have been through this sort of thing before. An upgrade to an app is released and it does not work for everyone. I understand it is close to impossible to diagnose technical problems from halfway around the world on someone else phone. So far nobody has offered any suggestions of specific settings or possible causes to look into. I cant be the only person that is having issues.
Being mid-season, when i have rides planned, i will switch over to another app that i use as a back up. I will revisit MRA another time when riding season is over. Hopefully by then what ever issue i am having might be fixed in a future release. It is just a shame this happened now. I am sure engineering this app to work perfectly for everyone is a challenge.
