Zumo XT Possible Route Calculation Solution

Hey folks,

So, my Zumo Zumo XT has decided to test my patience lately, ever since Garmin decided to shake things up with their April 2024 update.

It's like my GPS suddenly forgot how to GPS whenever I slapped a GPX file on it – total meltdown and would NOT calculate any of my new routes.

Garmin's support? About as useful as a chocolate teapot!

Today, in a stroke of accidental genius, I switched from GPX 1.1 to 1.2 files, and bam! Suddenly my GPS is back in the game, navigating like a champ. I have no idea why, but who cares, it works

I'm probably late to the party with this revelation, but hey, if it brings a chuckle or a eureka moment to even one of you, then my job here is done.

Me neither navigated a 250 mile GPX1.1 route on my Zumo XT on Thursday.

hi @BTC-Biker

i agree when i used to have an XT, it was a eureka moment when i discovered 1.2gpx.

at least using this format the XT does not try to find a better route, (in the wisdom of the internal pixies) between way/via/shaping points than your original planned route.

i would like to make an apology to @Steve-Jarrell,

in this is thread i referenced his excellent write up about 1.1gpx, 1.2gpx and XT units, however i incorrectly used used someone else's name,
