We hebben de export naar de Garmin Zumo’s nu significant verbeterd. We gaan het komende weken nog verder testen in de praktijk. Vervolgens gaan we bespreken hoe we de verbeterde GPX-bestanden het beste kunnen presenteren in de website en connector. Zodra we dat hebben vastgesteld, komt er een uitgebreide blog met uitleg op 15 november of 1 december. Als je ook zin en tijd hebt om te testen, heel graag, vertel gerust je ervaringen! Hieronder een samenvatting van de aanpassingen:

1. .gpx 1.1 (route, track POI):
   • Verbetering: Deze export bevat nu vormingspunten én viapunten en bij ons geen rechte lijnen meer! Viapunten zijn dus toegevoegd ten opzichte van eerdere versie. Werkt op de 3, 5 en XT series van Garmin én de BMW Navigator 6!
   • Aandachtspunt: Als je dit bestand gebruikt, dan berekent je Garmin opnieuw de route tussen de verschillende routepunten. De NTU kaart van Garmin is gebaseerd op de HERE kaart die wij ook gebruiken, maar toch kan het iets afwijken. Belangrijk is dus om voldoende routepunten zorgvuldig te plaatsen.
2. .gpx 1.2 (route, track POI):
   • Let op: Deze export vervangt de .gpx 1.1 Zumo XT beta export.
   • Verbetering: Deze export bevat viapunten met daartussen de track, nu ook geschikt voor de Garmin 3- en 5 series en bij ons geen rechte lijnen. Nauwkeurigheid van een track, maar mét viapunten voor je stops.
   • Aandachtspunt: Je moet eerst naar het startpunt rijden en dan pas de route starten op de Garmin, anders herberekent Garmin de hele route, ook als herberekenen uitstaat!
3. .gpx 1.1 (track, POI):
   • Hetzelfde gebleven, alleen via ‘Opslaan als’, niet via connector, export bevat alleen de track met de poi’s. Uiteindelijk blijft dit de meest nauwkeurige en probleemloze exportmogelijkheid via de MR GPS methode.
4. .gpx 1.0 (route, track, POI):
   • Hetzelfde gebleven, oud .gpx format voor de oudere Garmin modellen.

Die NTU-Karte von Garmin basiert auf der HERE-Karte, die wir ebenfalls verwenden, sie kann jedoch geringfügig abweichen. Daher ist es wichtig, genügend Routenpunkte sorgfältig zu platzieren.
2. .gpx 1.2 (Route, POI verfolgen):
   • Hinweis: Dieser Export ersetzt den .gpx 1.1 Zumo XT Beta-Export.
   • Verbesserung: Dieser Export enthält Zwischenpunkte mit dem Track dazwischen, jetzt auch für die Garmin 3er und 5er Serie geeignet und bei uns keine Geraden. Genauigkeit eines Tracks, aber mit Wegpunkten für Ihre Stopps.
   • Hinweis: Sie müssen zuerst zum Startpunkt fahren und erst dann die Route auf dem Garmin starten, sonst berechnet Garmin die gesamte Route neu, auch wenn die Neuberechnung ausgeschaltet ist!
3. .gpx 1.1 (Track, POI):
   • Gleich geblieben, nur über 'Speichern unter', nicht über Konnektor, Export enthält nur die Spur mit den Poi's. Letztendlich bleibt dies die genaueste und problemloseste Exportoption über das MR-GPS-Verfahren.
4. .gpx 1.0 (Route, Track, POI):
   • Behielt das alte .gpx-Format für die älteren Garmin-Modelle bei.

3. .gpx 1.1 (piste, POI) :
   • Resté le même, uniquement via 'Enregistrer sous', pas via le connecteur, l'exportation ne contient que la piste avec les points d'intérêt. En fin de compte, cela reste l'option d'exportation la plus précise et la plus simple via la méthode MR GPS.
4. .gpx 1.0 (itinéraire, piste, POI) :
   • Resté le même, ancien format .gpx pour les anciens modèles Garmin.

   • Nota: questa esportazione sostituisce l'esportazione .gpx 1.1 Zumo XT beta.
   • Miglioramento: questa esportazione contiene punti intermedi con la traccia in mezzo, ora adatta anche per la serie Garmin 3 e 5 e con noi senza linee rette. Precisione di una traccia, ma con waypoint per le tue soste.

@hans-van-de-ven-mra-master I have sent several gpx 1.2 routes to my Zumo 346 as an experiment using "save as" and "send to Zumo" via Bluetooth. On all occasions I have just used the Route as imported (not converted track to trip as per 1.1) and they have worked perfectly. I even started the route prior to the start point (but remembering to select start point as next destination) without it recalculating the whole route. In fact, on today's route I forgot to disable auto recalculate and it all worked as planned although I did not venture off the route. So far, so good and much quicker, thank you.

When would it become possible to export routes on Linux computers ? So far, I don't use MRA's export because I work with Linux. It can't be too hard, can it ? To say more, I'd willing to help develop this, for free, in my spare time (language of preference being Java).

The gpx 1.2 is the MRA name for an unflaged route, only the via-points and a track based route, and yes gpx 1.1 is still the standerd.
If you use the gpx 1.2 turn off recalculation

As the owner of the Garmin XT I applaud the creation of the GPX1.2 even though my personal preference is never to use it.
I prefer to travel alone 95% of the time so for me planned stops are irrelevant, I stop whenever I’m thirsty/hungry or just need to stretch my legs.
For those that ride in groups often then the GPX1.2 is a great option/choice.
Choices are always a good thing IMO.
