In another thread I was reminded on a simple trick to rule out problems with AA/CP built-in GPS units. It might be worth to see what it does in your specific problem cases @Lluis-Arasanz, @b0hd1, @Adrian-Avram and possibly others
In Android system settings goto Apps - All Apps - search for Android Auto - tap Android Auto - Permissions - tap Location - Disable this permission - go back yo your main screen - force close the MRA app and reopen it
There is most likely a similar option for iPhones and CarPlay, but I am not familiar with those. I know this sounds counterintuitive, but bear with me. The idea behind this, is that Android Auto loses it's permission to use the AA/CP built in GPS, the MRA app will automatically fall back to using your phone's GPS. Let's see what it does after this, if no improvement, reverse the setting. Personally I do this, because my Ford Sync3 headend does not communicate speed information correctly. We have seen all kinds of crazy stuff happening due to faulty communication by some AA/CP devices, up to driving backwards completely. And yes, often other apps work correctly, but they have hundreds of developers hunting for workarounds. MRA does not

Take for sure I'll test this.
But, have you noted that this reply is someone we expect to have?
This one, even in case not working for us,
- explain how AA uses Location,
- address a workaround for AA Aplications
- and why, even if this workarond sounds "bad", must be taken into account.
This kind of answers is what I expect from an Alpha Tester. Great!
Regards!!!

@Con-Hennekens Yes sir!! Now that's more like it!!! This is what I call trying to provide solutions and making valuable contributions. Bravo. I'll try it this afternoon. I have a trip of just over an hour and I'll be able to run several tests. I'll let you know the results.
Thanks again.

Thanks guys, mind you I have never intended a mud sling conversation. I think I am contributing positively to this community an almost insane amount. Then when someone claims me to be negative or narrowminded, I simply think that's not true and can get a little defensive about it. Please keep in mind that all alpha testers are volunteers and get nothing out of it, except great appreciation from MRA, it's devs and hopefully from the community.
I am curious to the outcome of your testing.

@Con-Hennekens I think I've also put you on the defensive, and I apologize. Look at my signature. For over five years, I've had a Telegram group dedicated exclusively to MRA with more than 500 members, in addition to over 1,000 followers on the MRA web group. So we're all in the same boat!

Managed to get my hands on a Bluetooth dongle (Buddy Play 2) today. I’ve pushed the app to its limits wherever I could, and while driving a route and an A2B, I didn’t encounter any issues.

@Rob-Verhoeff You're so lucky. Others with air conditioning are still having problems. I've attached a photo from right now with my car stopped. Look at the speed it's showing. The screen is completely frozen...

@Con-Hennekens It didn't work. It keeps freezing.

@b0hd1 I don’t quite understand what air conditioning has to do with how the app works... Perhaps you could write down the exact steps, point by point, that lead to your screen freezing. I’ll then try to reproduce the issue.
I’m unable to play the video you posted... -

I’m unable to play the video you posted...@Rob-Verhoeff Hehe. The spell checker changed AA (Android Auto) to air conditioning... In the video, you can see MRa frozen and Osmand working. It's that simple.
For my part, I'm refraining from further testing and debate. It's 100% clear that MRA doesn't work reliably on Android Auto. We'll wait for the development team to find a solution.
Please @Corjan-MeijerinkRegards

@b0hd1 let me say that I truely believe that in YOUR case MRA doesn’t work perfectie with YOUR AA device. We’ve that in more combinations of devices. Your statement that MRA is 100% not reliable is absolutely not correct.
In MY experiance it’s 99,5% reliable. The half % comming from the one update introducing the Free ride mode witch caused my AA to freeze up completely, witch Corjan fixed that same day. -

@Marinus-van-Deudekom I can confirm also that MRA doesn't work on two of my devices with my CP/AA device.
Perhaps, this 99,5% is not so high as you expects.

It doesn't work reliably with wireless Android Auto. 100% demonstrable, as many times as necessary, on different devices. As I said, I won't do any more testing or engage in any more debate. I'm available to @Corjan-Meijerink for any testing he needs, just as I and my group of over 1000 users have done for the past 5 years. Quietly, but with a lot of hard work. Regards.

Seguimos haciendo pruebas con diferentes combinaciones de:
- Smartphone
- Versión de Android
- Carplay
- Configuración smartphone
- Configuración Myrouteapp
Encontraremos el error. No nos rendimos.

The developers seem more focused on adding new features than on fixing this fundamental problem.
I'd like to add that "this problem" is fundamental for less people each version. The amount of people having problems has decreased drastically over the last few versions, so in all honesty you cannot claim that nothing has been done about it.

I’m not willing to risk mounting a phone worth over €1,000 on the handlebars just to use MyRoute App.
No, I would certainly not advise that, I do not even put my 2 years old €600 phone on my handlebar. Instead I buy a fully rugged phone for €250 instead of some twice as expensive AA/CP device
and be done with it.@Con-Hennekens said in Problema Car play:

I don't think this is entirely true... I am a user from the start and there where and stil are many problems with AA/CP version. It's just that a lot of people are tired of keep on complaining. The team is working hard but i still think a lot of effort goes to new functions which are not really needed. But stability is underestamited. I still have a ticket open and it's just not answerd. I think te app has a lot to offer and could be awsome, but for now it's just not stable enough to use with AA.
In my ticket i also send a lot of input with test information and i really think a lot has to do with the processor capacity in a phone, related to heating up when charging which slows down the processor. This results in a instable communication with the AA/CP software and results un unstability. I think if the software would be able to use less CPU cycles, and as a result generates less heat in the phone a lot of unstability issues will be resolved.
But, still the app on just the phone is great and the team has a really great navigation app. If it just was.....

You may think what you want, but I don't think you have the data needed to sustain your claim. If the problem was as easy as processor capacity, it would most likely be solved by now.
What could be an interesting test case, also for @b0hd1 if he is willing to listen to a non-staff forum member, is to try identical test procedures with HERE's own WeGo app. This app is based on the same SDK. if test results are comparable with WeGo, the problem could be part of the SDK or underlying platform.
Over the last days I have been testing lack of cell signal by emulating that through the flightmode. AA (wireless) has been rock solid for me. Also I learned that the automatic switching between online and temporary off-line mode in the app is much much faster than before (since v5). Whenever something changes in the network, an internet test is conducted, and temporary offline mode is switched on or off accordingly. In earlier versions such a test was only done at a recalculation. But anyhow, this lack of data does not seem to influence AA stability for me.

@Con-Hennekens Como comentaba en un post anterior, estamos haciendo diferentes pruebas modificando las siguientes variables:
Smartphone
Versión de Android
Carplay
Configuración smartphone
Configuración Myrouteappy reportando directamente al staff técnico.
Saludos.
