I would like to suggest three enhancements that would significantly increase MRA’s usefulness for ADV riders, off road riders, and the growing number of motorcyclists who own more than one bike. These changes would make routes more informative, improve route discovery, and increase the value of the RouteXpert library.

    1. Add “Road Type” to Route Information (Paved / Unpaved / Mixed)
Many riders choose routes based on surface type, especially when selecting the right bike, tires, and safety gear. Adding a simple “Road Type” field would make routes far more informative at a glance and help riders avoid unsuitable terrain or seek out the unpaved sections they enjoy.

This also improves route discovery. Riders can filter for the type of riding they prefer, which increases engagement and encourages more route sharing.

    2. Allow Shorter Routes in the RouteXpert Library
Some of the best ADV and off road loops are under 100 miles but still take a full day because of terrain, elevation, and technical difficulty. These routes often include scenic stops, viewpoints, and challenging sections that riders love. They are simply not long in distance.

Allowing high quality shorter routes into the RouteXpert library would open the door for a large number of excellent off road and mixed surface rides, especially in regions like the Appalachian Mountains where shorter, more technical loops are common.

    3. Allow Users to Track Routes by Motorcycle (Multi Bike Support)
Many riders now own multiple purpose built bikes. For example, a sport tourer, a full size ADV bike, a lightweight ADV bike, or a cafe bike. Being able to tag a route with the bike used would make route history far more meaningful.

    This would help riders:

    • See which routes they rode on which bike
    • Plan future rides based on the most suitable machine
    • Share routes with context such as “best on a lightweight ADV”
    • Build a more personalized riding logbook inside MRA

This feature would also encourage more route sharing and richer metadata across the platform.

    Why These Changes Matter
These three improvements would help MRA better serve ADV riders, dual sport riders, and multi bike owners. These are fast growing segments of the motorcycle community. The changes would also make MRA more competitive with apps like Gaia, Rever, and onX while keeping the platform simple and rider friendly.

I would love to contribute more off road routes to the library, and these additions would make them far more useful to the community.

Thank you for considering these improvements. They would make a meaningful difference for a large number of riders.

@Kerry-Lebel, Although number three is a nice suggestion, not only for bikers bot also for all other means of transport, it is of course also an option to add your bike in the name of the track when you save it. For the other suggestions, yes, those would be nice too, but I think they become sensible only when HERE will adopt full fledged off-road navigation. I don't think that will happen anytime soon (bummer).

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.
