Bij het loggen van een wandeling mis ik kaartlagen die voor de update wel beschikbaar waren.
Openstreetmap is handig voor onverharde paden e.d.

That's probably true, but OSM no longer exists in the MRA app for free driving (walking) since the V5.x.x! This is a decision of the developers and marketing.

Free driving (walking) is only possible with the HERE map under the new item "Drive around" further down in the menu.

However, OSM is available for planning

If this is true IMO its a poor decision & I wonder what the actual reasoning behind it could really be

The Here map is useless for walking, offroad & cycling so if the above is correct it would appear MRA is abandoning those use cases & may as well remove these from the web site

ik gebruik mra alleen in de auto en op de motor. voor wandelen en fietsen gebruik ik komoot die ook navigatie heeft op basis van osm.

Yes Komoot, that's probably the better alternative now , that's exactly how I've been doing it for hiking and cyclists for many years !!
